That team as it is looks great. Now imagine that team except replace Hunt with Matulino or Kasiano if either of those rumours prove true. That would be a fearsome team.

And replace Rein with King - King is much more likely to be here next year than Rein.

A spine of Dugan, Stanley/Chase, Widdop, King looks a lot better than what we have running out each week at the moment. Really excited that they are all so young too we can really build a team around them.

Sign a half back. Urgent.

And a big mean prop. Urgent.

I don't care about anything else now. If we have the cash, go harder. I want Kasiano, with Merrin playing minutes at prop. Stockwell has size. JDB will be 110 kgs next year. Then throw Creagh and Hunt in as athletic, quick options that work hard and defend well. That's a good engine room. But we badly need a prop.

I like this post. Would that it were so.

Yar for 2013 I think we will just work with what we have, we assumably have the funds to pay for the rest of the seasons salaries for Dugan & Rangi, a development year for our younger forwards.

For 2014 - were still 2 quality players short, Rangi/Kasiano would be perfect, but I dont know if were starting to butt up against the salary cap and frankly I dont know if Kasiano is even available.. they are working pretty hard to secure their players at the Dogs before Greenberg goes, and their form is improving too, so whether he will want to leave I dont know.

Most are overlooking the fact that if we keep Dugan (should we actually sign him) into next year Beale will probably leave us as soon as possible as he always wanted to play fullback and that's why he left Brisbane. He can't blame us for signing Dugan though.

No he won't - signed for three years and will happily shift to centre.

Yep, I recall Beale saying he left Brisbane to play fullback or centre.
Doesn't seem robust enough for centre yet though IMO.

Would have the skill to combine with the winger,a good player and would adapt.

the great thing is we will have a whole lot of flexibility around the back 7 positions to cover injury or form, or just experiment if its not working.

Yep, this flexibility is key. I think Thompson is an outstanding buy, his ability to play backrow and centre will come in handy. Throw in Kyle and Beale for their ability to cover different positions and it looks good. Teams rarely have their top 17 available, having versatile players helps big time.

Can't agree, Rein has runs on the board, has proven he deserves his spot, King either thru, bad luck or injury has not yet delivered, since 2011?

The Kasiano rumor won't go away. Not sure if there is any real substance to it but f**k me it would be great to see him in the Red V. Can't say I've heard the Matulino rumor though.
