New NRL Logo?

I don't understand how people call the old one a "good logo".

As someone said upon it's release in 1998, it's clunky, looks like a bomb and doesn't *really* make much sense.

It's obviously what people are use to. Not that I agree with that description of the old logo.

They've made the change, must be in your cache.

Every time I go to NRL.com I'm immediately struck by two very distinctive gold chevrons.

Surely they are now the prime piece of branding on the logo now, rather than the text itself.

That being the case is it fair to say the logo is a winner as far as being highly identifiable?

The new WARL was on all the marketing stuff at yesterdays ARLC breakfast, looks great! Big improvement on the old one. I like it, well done marketing people.

This has a tas rl logo on it so i assume it's a concept design

That's definitely a mock-up by a fan. I've been to that guy's site a few weeks ago by chance, and he's a fan of both League and aussie rules and makes up new jerseys and logos based on ideas he gets.

Plus, the new Tasmanian RL logo is a page or two back on here which is exactly the same as all the other state RL logos now, with 'TAS RUGBY LEAGUE' text and the colour scheme of black and green.

I realised that TRL has a new logo under the new branding, but did mistakenly think this was the old one.

I just thought it was funny because of the use of 'the map of Tasmania'.

Never the less, still a massive upgrade for the TRL.

I think along with this the NTRL and WARL has had big upgrades as well.

Couple of Questions.

Why does the QRL have the old logo as the ball on the new logo?

Why is the colours for TAS wrong while colours for all other states are correct? TAS colours are Green, Yellow and Maroon not Green and Black.

QLD got to keep they're Q logo because it is iconic. NRL words, not mine.

The Telstra Premiership logo is also the one on the field markings, in fact the NRL logo is not very prominent at all. But these articles make it sound like it will be the NRL logo on teams jerseys next year. What then happens to the Telstra Premiership logo?
