During the half time show, they said it was an absolute "snooze fest" " 6 -12 how boring is that" complaining about the ref being the show and how much better the NRL grand final was and how much better Andrew gee was.

Basically saying how boring it was during half time of the wc final that there team was in.. and that the NRL was better- THE NZ BROADCAST!

everyone I've spoken to on the South Island has literally said that they prefer league.
Dunedin where I currently am is no exception
.
I've been watching the Union here because everyone watches it, if you want to be able to have a conversation on current events- you simply have to.
That's where Union is in NZ.
Mate, I've had a Sunday session of drowning my sorrows after three shit results this weekend (cricket, league, rugby) so I'm not going to pull any punches. You're full of shit (and that goes for your fluffers in this thread too).

Each trip to NZ you've made you've included scant real detail about the places you've been, or why you're there (even after I asked you in another post), so that others have questioned whether you were really in NZ. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're actually there, but I'm calling your "everyone prefers league" claim as completely fully shit. I have a good cross section of friends and relations in the south island and none of them prefer league. Do they like league, yes of course, you'll struggle to find many NZers who don't (as I keep telling you lot we support both sports), but they don't prefer it, they're Crusaders diehards (which I try not to hold against them as I hate the Crusaders).

Even though the ABs lost, and the TMO was an idiot, that was a cracking game of rugby, I don't expect you to understand that because you're not a rugby fan.

Kempy is a great Warriors promoter, but he's in a league bubble. While I loved listening to him on Monty's podcast I take no notice on him when it comes to rugby, just like I take no notice of David Campese or Peter Fitzsimons when they talk league.

Seriously mate, if "everyone prefers league", why does everyone watch rugby to the point you have to watch it to keep up with current events? You're not making sense.

I fear with the seemingly already decided introduction of png NZ2 will be the area to miss out now. PNG seemingly in, perth likely next whilst wa govt is still in power, brisbane3 likely safe option for club 20. That leaves nz without a second team for a very long time to come.

Let's hope the wahs continue this year's form. Is there local chatter about another team there?

The NRL has gone very quiet on NZ2 as well. Not that that means it’s not a chance but Abdo was talking it up not that long ago, now it’s all PNG with an occasional mention of Perth or Brisbane 3.

Will there be a 19th and 20th club?

It might be best for the game to consolidate for awhile.

Yeah, looks like PNG next. Great option as long as it's done well.

I think it will be a dog of a club.
The stadium only holds 15k, so we're not going to be boasting about that- especially if invade the pitch regularly and we've only be lucky with the weather.
The Hunters have been in the comp long enough to unearth this so called mountains of talent but they're not even winning that.
They will struggle big time to get talent! The pm13 is a special occasion for the Australians but there's no f**king way you want to go through that every second week and every other week you'll fly some place else .

So there performances will stink and they'll be flogged every week. Most people won't even bother watching their own club play them. And what happens if the local population disowns them ?

Let's hope it's 600 million because a cash grab is all this is worth.

People follow trends to fit in is what I'm saying . I actually enjoy the game but every piece of commentary during the game and after and in every news paper you'll find an article dedicated to! Not just mentioned.. dedicated to how boring Rugby has become! Those same people will tell you that the NRL grand final was epic!
So turn on the tv , buy a f**king news paper, look out the window! Maybe talk to someone outside of your little eco chamber!
I'm here , I like to talk league.. once I say that people say they actually prefer League without me asking.
It's probably risky to say perhaps and they feel comfortable telling an Australian- let's call it the silent majority.

first rule of LU, never ever like more than 1 code of football.
second rule of LU, assume everyone else in the real world only likes 1 code of football.

Yeah, and it would be crazy for the NRL to not take the opportunity NOW to make a play for NZ with a 2nd team here.
