Jokes aside nrl players are getting an all expenses paid holiday to Vegas and la for 3 weeks flying business class

would’ve cost them 20k plus they go for free

the ratings for these games are going to be massive
Perth Red will be getting ready for the AwFuL season while the NRL kicks off in Las Vegas.

Is the French competition professional or semi-professional?
League ?

semi professional

some clubs have decent budgets too

in France the local councils heavily sponsor their local rugby teams

Catalans for example have a turnover of 13 million euro which when you consider they only get like a million pounds grant from the rfl means they raise most of the money themselves

I don’t think it’s a holiday is it? Happy to be corrected if I’m wrong.

Not much talk of NZII on here, mind you I have only bothered reading the two latest pages.

I really would love to see a second NZ team, but I don’t hear any talk from the NRL inviting expressions of interest.

England club union four clubs have died more will follow

super rugby is basically dead in Australia and struggling badly in nz

france has half the crowds the nrl gets and one third the tv deal

but sure the 6 nations will make up the difference

you can’t compare any union competition to the nrl that would be stupid
Im not comparing any domestic union comp to the NRL but the point stands that there’s far more professional union comps spread throughout the world that still has the money to spend on the best rugby talent on the planet.

It’s highly unlikely it will be anytime soon they’ll look for clubs 19&20. Nz2 won’t be club 18.

Small comps vs one massive comp

nrl salary cap will be going up by a. Lot in a few years too

top nrl players will be on 3 million plus

highest wages in world rugby will be nrl

You know rugby union is on its last legs when it has no choice but to host the Sevens in Perth. No other city in Australia wants it.

NSW government officials will meet with senior World Rugby officials this week to discuss an extension of Sydney as host of the Australian leg of the World Sevens Series, but Queensland and South Australia are circling to take the tournament interstate.

You don’t have evidence of that and it seems a wild prediction considering the really top players are getting less than half of that currently.

Does it?

I hope that you’re right but players earning $3 million per annum in the short term is a pretty wild prediction
The nrl is looking at 200 million plus in extra revenue pa

you can make your own assumptions based off that I guess
