How many of those went to league ?

you guys are never going to give anyone a chance are you lol

that’s where nrl clubs need to focus is signing as Many players on that list as possible

Good question, I will look through lower grade squads to answer that.

Apparently he was undecided until he saw the NRL GF, That is where FTA coverage over there is under rated

The rise in the development part of the salary cap surely will help here

each nrl club is spending 500 to 600k on development players now

so across the league that’s almost 15 million dollars spent on juniors plus what they spend on lower grade teams and what the arlc and Nzrl are spending

Lots of lower graders over here play Schoolboy Rugby and League.

The same can work over there

Nrl clubs have the pathways already they just need to identify them at the ages of 16 to 18 and get them over here playing our game

which tbf already looks to be happening

let union spend money establishing pathways over there which we can then cherry-pick with the advantage of a larger cap to offer better wages

Their player of the year in QCup last year is a rugby convert.

The sports crossover well, Plenty of islanders like both sports. Any RL expansion will involve players from RU
Yeh the dolphins only got him bc he had no chance at first grade with you guys

the reports about him are very promising and bennett knows how to develop kids without pressure being put on them

throw in Burton whose a top five eight and you guys are churning them out like sausages

Its no wonder The Australians are so desperate to try and tap into superior NZ talent.

"ARLC chair Peter V’landys has said rugby league has exhausted all its revenue sources in Australia and must look to gambling revenue from the United States.

However, given the skill level of the bottom five NRL teams and the Dolphins’ drain of an increasingly shallow talent pool, the ARLC must prioritise increasing playing talent, rather than revenue."

Looks like things aren't as rosy in Australian League circles. The same problems facing contact team sports in NZ are also in Australia and running out of players means the golden age is coming to an end. When the NZ junior numbers dry up, then the NRL wont have anywhere else to go.

This also means after Perth is announced next, there wont be anymore expansion due to lack of player development, meaning this entire thread is moot.

Well that’s it then folks. The immoderate moderator has decided all expansion shall cease after Perth joins the comp. No further discussion required. Just move along folks.

well given all the bullshit posted in this thread, a little more wont matter. It's just as likely as a second NZ side.

Might I remind you that your role as a moderator Te Kaha is to ensure respectful but boisterous debate. You are a really poor role model and you really are just plain rude. I’ve never witnessed such poor moderator behaviour on any forum before.

Which is what Roy stated should happen but you conveniently ignored.

Except it wont. As it has been pointed out over and over again. Broadcasters dictate where a new side is going. The Warriors are the worse rating side in the NRL, Aussie broadcasters would rather a team they can make money off of. Sky TV wont pay for it, with Spark Sport going under, the increase the NRL got in rights the sky paid wont be there.
Nobody to pay for it. no new NZ team.
Why it shouldn't happen is an entirely different argument to do with the rapidly decreasing junior numbers which mean million in investment need to be put into junior coaching and academy pathways before a second team is entered. There aren't enough juniors to supply the Warriors, yet idiots want to put a second team in.

What a load of horseshit. Your opinion of me and my "role" is worth less than zero. if you don't like it, leave, complain or ignore it. Up to you.

Well mate you are really bad at your job. Using abuse and intimidation while in the role of moderator means you aren’t worthy of the role. And using abuse to remove posters must surely defy forum rules. I suggest you report yourself.
