I think PNG, Perth and NZ2 are the three obvious frontrunners now, they’re the options that NRL HQ seem to be eyeing. In what order? Good question. Outside those 3 I think Brisbane 3 is the only other one with any realistic prospect, could see it replacing PNG if it turns out the logistics of lthat prove too difficult.

Is it a direct payment to the NRL or to PNG or overall development funds that includes infrastructure juniors ect?? Is it monthly, yearly or lump sum? Is where it's spent going to be scrutinised by the government? far the PNG bid themselves said that there's no agreed amount..

You couldn’t dream up a scenario where we knew less about a payment of sorts.. random number made up by media.. got to hand it to them.

If I had to play devils advocate, I'd say PVL is playing this the only way one could.. that is: so long as doors are open.. why close them??
Until there's an approved fund passed through parliament.. a formal offer has been proposed.. and a deadline attached..
Only then do you need to respectfully decline. Even if they knew they weren't they would still have to let time pass to be as respectful as possible!
