Then why do you continue to engage with me if I don't know what I'm talking about 🤔
And why are you posting like an Olympic posting champion on a thread you think is stupid 🤔

But here we are 🤔

Because I can. It's my civic duty to educate the less fortunate.

And now you think I post like an "Olympic posting champion"??? that's a new one.

What "Evidence"?
The 18th Club will be Perth, there is no tv money in Australia to pay for an NZ Club, the Sky deal will tank with no competition.
The NRL salary cap is irrelvant, there is no salary cap in NZ, NZR can pay players what they like to keep them. The example you provided, one of the All Blacks was talking about AFL not League!
There are not enough juniors in either Wellington or Christchurch, and there is yet to be ANY money spent on improving the pathways in either city.
There is no stadium in Christchurch until 2026 at the earliest.
There are few available slots to have flood lights on in Wellington.
Junior numbers in NZ have been declining consistently for decades.
Teenage Maori and Pacific Islanders are playing Basketball and a vastly increasing rate rather than Contact sports.

These are all facts, not your assumptions and opinions.

next...
The 18th club will be in Queensland to stop AFL getting any more traction there and the 19th club will be NZ 2.

Who will pay for the 19th club? Not Aussie TV money, Not NZ TV money.
Until the NRL gets serious about spending money on growing Juniors in NZ, there isn't a hope in hell of a successful new team, hell we don't even have a successful existing one.

Geez. Funny how the target players are Islanders and kiwis...🤦‍♂️
Rugby Union couldn't kill itself anymore in Australia than poaching League faithful that are Kiwis to represent Australia 😳

This is a sign at just how bad Union in Australia is going

Are you party to what goes on behind the scenes at Aussie and NZ TV?

He knows everyone in NZ and Australia, what they like and will like well into the future 🔮 He knows all values and future dealings in TV rights both in Australia and NZ
Lucky despite such talents, he has devoted his time to this forum and this thread in particular purely out of what he describes as his " civic duty "

Why is Eddie saying they want NAS? That's just weird, he's not Australian and if he did go back to rugby he'd want to make a play for the ABs. Funnily enough he talked about doing it when he first signed with the Storm as a schoolboy when they did a profile of him on a teenage TV show.

I know you guys usually ignore any information about rugby but most Oz rugby fans don't want the ARU to offer contracts to league players. They identify it as one of the problems of the post 2003 WC era and too much money was spent on converts and not on grassroots. In all honesty It's just Eddie being Eddie, niggling away. He can't help himself.

MG said some good stuff about growing the grassroots in Oz rugby though, but has kind of misinterpreted RTS and his standing in rugby. RTS is just not good enough. It's not that he can't be good enough, he just isn't yet. He didn't get his AB jersey on merit but on his development potential and mana as sportsman. Unfortunately for him Covid screwed him as he had to miss the 2021 NPC as Auckland had a delta outbreak. That would have given him a crucial half season of getting up to speed with the game.

That there will be another Kiwi side or that they will take over Union? The former is somewhat realistic, the latter is completely not.
Nah even that sounds dumb to me. Warriors represent all of NZ so you’re taking away their identity and the Warriors haven’t been good in years. This is just complete insanity.

Did they not learn the lesson last time blowing their money on NRL stars? Wasn't Jones the coach back then too?

Oh well happy for RU to continue to piss their money away while the NRL quietly gets richer and bigger and slowly takes over the Pacific and NZ

He didn't.

Nobody knows who Jones was referring to, and the names being thrown around are purely media speculation. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if that was entirely the point on Eddie's part.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Eddie and the ARU would love to sign many of the NRL's players if they got the opportunity, but announcing it the way he did came off more as a publicity stunt than part of a genuine thought out plan to poach NRL players.
