You really have no idea about the average rugby fan in NZ.So they could get an all black.
And the players outside of the all blacks are irrelevant to rugby fans in NZ ..

Good pointAnd your assumption is that the sporting landscape in NZ can't change... when it already has... to the detriment of Super Rugby...less teams, weaker teams, less competition, less interest. There's talk Australia can't sustain the amount of clubs it has which will weaken the product further...
How many times are you lot going to keep posting this ?You really have no idea about the average rugby fan in NZ.
Seriously bro, even if that is halfway true it does not compare with the state of league in NZ - league is not booming in NZ. The domestic game where I'm from is basically dead and guys on here are even saying it's not going well in Auckland, the teams I played for at school age don't exist anymore, none of the guys I used to go to Warriors games with go anymore, in fact most of them don't follow the game at all.And your assumption is that the sporting landscape in NZ can't change... when it already has... to the detriment of Super Rugby...less teams, weaker teams, less competition, less interest. It's true. You guys are flailing around with clearly no real idea of what's happening in NZ in regards to both league and rugby. How many times are you lot going to keep posting this ?
If your only response is you guys don’t understand the market in nz and are going to keep repeating it to every poster it’s best to probably not continue further lolSeriously bro, even if that is halfway true it does not compare with the state of league in NZ - league is not booming in NZ. I want the NRL to throw some of their cash at rebuilding the game in NZ, if a second NRL team in NZ is going to help that then I'm all for it, but expectations need to be kept pretty low, unlike the hyperbole going on in this thread.

Re: Your video [Edit, apologies it was gobsmacked's video]. Sky NZ has nearly as many streaming subscribers now as set top box owners, so it's probably a given that total viewing figures top 2021's figures and a good chance they top 2020's as well.
You started this thread with "New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby". That is plainly not true. and nothing you have provided would offer any evidence to support that. And your assumption is that the sporting landscape in NZ can't change... when it already has... to the detriment of Super Rugby...less teams, weaker teams, less competition, less interest. FFS, even he stated this figures don't include SkySportNow streaming, which is far more popular than getting the satellite dish these days.
Its because you clearly don't understand it. Not only the market, but the level of support, player numbers and juniors either. And that includes both codes. If your only response is you guys don’t understand the market in nz and are going to keep repeating it to every poster it’s best to probably not continue further lol
And there's literally nothing you've said to the contrary.. in fact you've actually said things that support the case. You started this thread with "New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby". That is plainly not true. and nothing you have provided would offer any evidence to support that.
You're the one who started the thread and made the statement, yet you can't provide any basis to back that claim up.And there's literally nothing you've said to the contrary.. in fact you've actually said things that support the case.
So thanks.
Andrew abdo literally said they are going to expand junior pathways in nzWhat's interesting is that the Warriors being locked out of the country for 3 years apparently couldn't have been what was responsible for the grass roots decline...lmao.
Of course it was.. but they are back for a full season in 2023 !
Another team in 2025
Loose Pass: New Zealand rugby's fascinating fall from grace
In this week's Loose Pass, we will mostly be concerning ourselves with New Zealand, as the rest of the world looks on with fascination.www.planetrugby.com
Teenage participation in union is down 17 percent
I've described an extra 12 million in player payments. You're the one who started the thread and made the statement, yet you can't provide any basis to back that claim up.
The NRL has said that a lot over the years. But junior League numbers continue to decline. Like you, they say a lot, but they never follow through/Andrew abdo literally said they are going to expand junior pathways in nz
the best way you can tell this is a good idea is the meltdowns the union trolls are having
You have provided assumptions not evidence.I've described an extra 12 million in player payments.
Double the media exposure.
Double the amount of games played in the country.
New geographical area in which they're are played.
Actually I left out the part where the NRL are moving to a reserve grade system. So you can add an extra 30 players to the mix.
But yeah nothing lol
All that being said RU in killing itself off without any help from the NRL.
The Super Rugby fan will fall straight into the NRL lap.
