C,mon, I`d hazard a guess that the Western Australian economy is probably larger than the NZ economy full stop. That`s before we even start on that rural backwater that is the South Island.

Yeah it has been strong for a while. As the report indicates, half of Australia’s exports come from WA. We are blessed with the amount of resources we have, so that is definitely not NZ’s fault.

I’d love another team in NZ (because heck your country is so spectacularly beautiful and it’s another excuse to visit) but it wouldn’t done for the money. It would be done to produce more players

At the moment it’s $21.77m (exchange rate fluctuates between that 10c over the dollar usually.
I used to think “yay 10% off” when I went back but it’s not that simple when it comes to buying power,
Eg 91 petrol

There’s also tax rates to consider which I think NZ may leave u better off as an NRL player as I remember Cam George trying to use it as a selling point

it’s not black and white as there are some things cheaper and some things more expensive. But as a rule NZ gets ripped off badly for every day stuff. A trip to the supermarket is an eye opener

Housing is cheaper (barely) but the quality and stock is generally a lot older, I looked at buying in Napier/Hastings a couple of years back as an investment property and what I could get there (2 bedroom 1970s built(Napier) vs 2 bedroom 2000s built(Hills)) it was comparable in price to a unit in the hills district sydney - I was shocked

It’s the NZ arm of Woollies (countdown even has the ‘Wapple’ logo) many have changed over and the rest will eventually, heaps of people still refer to it as countdown anyways

Rebrand pretty much done now. There might be a few Countdowns still having signage changed, but it's effectively Woolworths now.
