There was too much doubt to give it out from the naked eye but it was the right decision.

So there was too much doubt to give it out, but it was out? What?

Was outside the line, simple as that IMO. You can slow it down all you like, use all the trendy technology, but to the eye it was outside the line and therefore not out. Even with all the technology the ball was shown to impact at best on the very outside of the off stump line.

All this technology is really just a waste of time in the search for technicalities...it may reverse some terrible decisions but for the most part it will reverse some 50/50 ones that should go the batsmans way anyways, just like the Flynn decision

You have to feel a bit for Flynn - debut century so close, and technically he was out, BUT that really wasn't the sort of decision that the technology is there to fix imo

He looks a good organised, level-headed kid - we need a few more like him. On principle I'd love to see Taylor dropped for that shot - Sunday social league stuff - embarassing really

Anyway not to take anything away from Flynn's performance today, denied but still that wa a really solid knock from hm. Ryder's looking pretty good now so hopefully he'll kick on tomorrow and Baz too

Taylor's shot was ordinary, but he was among our best in Australia, sadly

Why on earth did we start the game at midday? Bad light was inevitable.

Because in general he was standing up to the Aussies and stuck it out against them and Baz did in the last innings and even Redmond's slow going 80* in the 2nd. But Taylor did stand out a bit by not giving being removed as easily

You are a fool

1 bad shot does not make him "pathetic", especially after the year he has had, 100ish runs short of the record for most runs by a NZ batsmen in a calendar year, including 2 very, very good 100s against England

Taylor has been our best batsman this year.

Off for bad light with over an hour left in the day...thats what you get for starting at 12. Whats wrong with starting at 11?

It is his 1st full year of test cricket, and he has been our most productive and consistent batsman in a pretty young side. Dumb shot, yes, dropable, no, would be up there with the dumbest moves made by NZ cricket. nearly 800 runs @ 40 is fine for me for a 1st year test batsman

Even the best make stupid mistakes, just look at Pontings pull shot in the series 2 weeks ago

I can see the merit in the 12pm start time, gives people an opportunity to get along and see a decent amount after work.

Maybe 11.30 would still offer that opportunity
