Are any betting markets closed yet? Usually that is an indicator

You can't bet on wooden spoon anymore, it's least wins. And if the club in question is going to have their points stripped, the betting agencies will happily take everyone's money on them winning a premiership.

Starting to feel like salaries should become a matter of public record like they are in the Big 4 in North America and that the NRL should pay players directly instead of handing out the Club grants.

This is a rabbithole that goes very far, and if the NRL really wants to keep the salary cap in something closely resembling its current form, they need to have way more control over it.

Those lads in America are on 7 figures generally (some 8). Its a bit different the world knowing you're on $6m per year compared to $65,000.

Would hardly call that 10 out of 10 WTF.

Lots of other clubs have builders as sponsors, chairman that would do similar stuff.

As long as it's not less than market value.

I'm not a betting man, but isn't there a market on teams making the 8/ missing out on the 8?

I don't see any issue with this.

At the end of the day, they players have to live in Townsville.....

The NRL should offer Kate McClymont the job of salary cap auditor. She seems to be able to uncover more things than what the actual NRL salary cap auditor is able to

The top 4 are in a position where they have suspended betting as they are too short to provide odds.
Same as the top 2 to make the top 4.

Betting agencies aren't going to include the Cowboys in any markets that will potentially see them lose $
