Had these on for last week:

Bet 1:

Dragons H2H
Titans 13+
Panthers H2H

Paying $27 - Put $10 down = Collect $270.

Bet 2:

Parramatta 13+

Paying $11 - Put down $20 = Collect $220

Good weekend, will have to post up what I put on this afternoon.

for all you centrebetters

NRL GF has options for U/O metres gained and tackles made for a select few. Ryan Hoffman over 23.5 @ 1.87 is a really good one IM) considering his usual numbers this season. Was way down last week against manly but the whole team was and would expect that if you had around 70% of possesion

Anyone betting on the Charity Shield, Foundation Cup or WCC this weekend?

Yeah, I'm back for the first bet of the year. Had a good return last year despite a pretty bad spell in between.

Tonight I'm on the bunnies (-4.5) @ $1.80 (Centrebet). Pretty decent value there

you guys think storm are unders this year?

Not at all. Melbourne will always be there at the business end of the season. What makes you think they are unders?

One team who are massive overs this year is Manly. They haven't lost much at all this year.. But have blown out to $12. Assuming they aren't crippled by injuries this year, they will be right up there again. I can't bring myself to back them for the premiership, however I am all over the "make top 4" odds of $3.25. Even $1.65 to make the top 8, those are way over what they should be.

ROUND 1

Friday night, some good value:

Manly (+4.5) @ $1.91

Sunday, I'm eyeing the Melbourne vs Dragons game. Awaiting more markets to open, but I'd expect Melbourne (-4.5) to be close to $1.50 which will be a good bet..

Not much else on offer for the week. Canberra is tempting, against a weak Penrith outfit. Sharkies should have the Titans covered. Every other game you can flip a coin, so I'll happily watch from the sidelines..

Had a brilliant return on manly.. When they blew out to $2.78 on betfair I couldn't believe my eyes.

Not much interest in the remaining games anymore. Canberra lost a couple of key players, so forget them. Cronulla with all kinds of problems, no need to take risk. Melbourne has been firming all week, less appealing for me as well.

Will have a reduced wager on Melbourne (-5.5) @ $1.43

I had fat stacks win on Souths -2.5 start. Then doubled down the following weekend and got home by the skin of my teeth with Manly/Brisbane Under 36.5 points.

Since then ive been rinsed... had a multi sunk on the line of Warriors H2H, did my dosh on the Raiders -1.5, and backed it up by forgetting to take the Storm -10 and the total game OVER 38.0

Backing the over 38.0 tonight in the tigers v knights

New to the betting scene in general but this year I thought I'd have a bit of fun, put $40 into an account to see what I can do with it by the end of the regular season.

I did the same thing last year after Round 24, ended up in Round 26 with about $160 after starting with $40.

Hoping I don't end up with $0 a few rounds in

Thanks mate, my betting has grown from a bit of fun to a profitable venture over the years. 5 of the last 6 years have provided positive ROI, so it's going pretty well.

I'll try my best to get my tips in weekly. Sometimes it's hard, as I usually prefer to place my bets just before kick off. But I will provide some early thoughts mid-week and hopefully rectify them before kick off.

3 out of 3 for the year so we're off to a good start :)

Good stuff mate. If done right with high discipline it can be very profitable hence why I like the way you go about it from last year which has carried onto this year.

Yeah I certainly stepped it up last year. You are right, discipline is the key. Still looking to improve this year.

My strategy is fairly basic. I will only stick with the consistent performers and stay away from the inconsistent teams. I rate the defensive teams highly. Since 2006 only the best defensive teams have won the premiership (Melbourne, Manly, Brisbane and Dragons). In 2013 we really only have Melb and Manly left. As I said last week, they will be right up there at the end of the season. Particularly Manly, who are severely under rated this year.. When they get a couple of their forwards back they will be the bench mark once again. The absence of T-Rex is not enough to hurt their premiership hopes.

Cronulla's defense is also one of the best.. Hopefully they can work out how to score some points for themselves this year.

Souths and Cowboys should feature as well, despite some shaky defence at times. You can find a lot of value giving big starts to the opposing teams here. This applies to Melb and Manly too.

All remaining teams will need to prove consistency to get my cash.

Apart from that, I look to bet against teams missing key players. I've found that the market usually underestimates the effects of missing players.

ROUND 2

Not a great betting round this week, with all of the good teams playing each other, as are the bad teams. Most games are hard to pick with any confidence this week.

Manly, again, look to be the best bet of the round. Although Newcastle were good on Monday, you can't bring any of that form into this game (I don't think I've ever seen 65% possession before).. Tigers were dreadful.

I took Manly @ $1.76 (Betfair).. back at Brookie, very hard to beat.

I also took the Roosters @ $1.83 (Betfair). Just can't see the Warriors improving much on last week, Roosters are great value here.

Really nothing else this week. I'm tempted to take the Titans over Canberra, although they have shortened a little too much for mine. Also the Sharkies at $4? Jeez those are very juicy odds, despite the uncertainties hanging over them.

I agree with Manly and the roosters for sure. I think the bet of the round is the broncos tonight they were terrific in the 1st half against manly only to fall asleep in the 2nd and manly like said before are very underrated this year. So broncos tonight for me.
