I think I went to the last time we beat the Storm (?) in 2014. By this, I clearly mean in Melbourne

I was almost going to be there this year, but left my flights too long. And I'll be living there from July, so maybe next year is our year?
I've got my St. Kilda hat and scarf all ready for my first Tasmanian holiday next month. I didn't think there was much point in wearing NRL gear down there. 'Rugby' they call it, both league and union. Far out, that's annoying.

Manly's united front - particularly towards DCE - won't last long if they continue to get poor results. Expect some booing mid-season if they're struggling outside the eight.

As it was, yesterday, that packed house at Brookvale was a beautiful sight.

Gould creates winners - Ciraldo came from a great system, has taken much of their talent - they're building.

Yep and Gould showed patience after a slow start to the Ciraldo era. Did Cleary get the same patience at Penrith?

To be fair he did... he missed finals in his first couple years with them after he left us but Gould kept backing him.
They made finals the next year but crashed straight back the next, and that's when Gould made that weird claim about him 'tired' and gave him the flick.

Dunno if thats ever been fully explained (?) but Ivan's obviously got the last laugh.

Probably has his son to thank in more ways than one too... don't know if Penrith would've pushed so hard to get him back for a second stint if they weren't concerned Nathan might've bailed to join his old man at the Tigers. Bit of a sliding doors moment for both clubs.

Tassie have an AFL team from 2028, that's a huge development for them. It's such a beautiful part of the world. I wouldn't want to be caught there in winter, but I went there and played golf at Barnbougle a few years back....wowee what a wonderland that is

Oh I agree, 100%. I just can't see them winning this year with a spine of Tracey, Burton (when he's back) Sexton and Mahoney. But gee they're impressive, and will only get more impressive as Gould continues to sign big names or pick up quality talent, and Ciraldo is clearly a great coach

No, I agree, they aren't with the top teams yet - but will make the 8

Imagine how good the Panthers could be if they could have kept Burton and Crichton though... They certainly are two to build a team around imo

Are they all in on Sexton as their long term 7? or is he just keeping the seat till some gun junior is ready?

Think I’ve heard Willie talking about a young fella there that might be the goods in a year or 2

Still wouldn’t take them out of the DCE race
I agree with Gould on the Roosters with DCE, how would that help Walker?

Interesting though, Dolphins surely? Is DCE desperate for a premiership, or a big salary??

I have a hunch he may finish up with Dessie.
Gees that'd make them genuine prem contenders I reckon.

DCE at 7, Campbell to 6 with Brimson out to centre, Kini at 1, Verrils/Foran sharing the hooking duties.... that's a very good spine to go with what's already one of the best packs in the comp.

The talk seems to be when he asked for a release last year, it was to go home to the Dolphins. Was also something about him putting his house up for sale as well

Was interesting to hear on a podcast, can’t remember which journo but one said they were having a chat to Hasler last week, and when the question was asked about DCE he couldn’t change the subject quick enough haha. He and DCE are close enough that Des was at his wedding too. DCE, Fifita and Tino all on huge coin might not work though
