So, sack Widders?
He deserves time we have given BA a decade ffs so it would be hypocritical from the club and the board to sack widders especially when he was given a shitshow this year. He should have had a KPI in his contract that he if made the GF it triggered an extension.

I wasn't serious.

Well I've been curious as to why we have basically lost almost our entire NRLW top 17 Grand Finalist team all in the one offseason. It just didn't/doesn't make much sense. I mean most clubs that make GF's have great camaraderie and try to stay together to go one better. But we lost almost the entire squad in one full swoop and have had to start from scratch from the ground up.

When something like that happens it usually means there is something not right in the club or culture of the club is very toxic, which I don't think so since all the players last season looked so happy and supportive of each other and also seemed like they loved the club.

My suspicions were that either our recruitment team reacted way to slow off the mark in resigning them and allowed all the other clubs to pick us clean before we got our shit together. Or the other possibility was that the coaching team was not up to scratch and our players wanted better mentoring and guidance to progress their careers. Or a combination of both.

Well if anyone saw the clash today between the Broncos and the Sharks we might of got a little insight into what the issue is. When Ellie Johnston our former barnstorming prop barged over for her 4th try of the season and in doing so became the highest scoring Shark of the season the co-commentator Shontelle Stowers who is also a current Parra player made the remark and this is a direct quote word for word...

"And I know she made the shift looking for a different type of coaching game and she is obviously receiving that"

Now obviously you can't make a definitive call on a coach by a player/commentator but it is quite a statement. It makes you wonder how many other players that left felt the same? I like Dean Widders as a former Parra player and also as someone that genuinely seems like a great bloke. But I was very curious as to why he was chosen as our coach, since he doesn't seem like a person that would make a good coach. He seems like a N. Cayless or Stephen Kearney type.

Anyway I thought I should mention it. What do you all think?

Mate, we blew retention massively and I fear it was due to a combination of Widders being an ordinary coach and MON being a glacier at signing players.

What a the common denominator in decisions for both the NRL and NRLW, yep it’s the person seemingly responsible for recruitment and signings. No it’s not BA who gets the blame for most things.
Someone once said if the HOF did accept approach from the Tigers, both clubs would improve, interesting comment

Is it Ben Rogers our recruitment manager who is at fault?

Who would be the best option as a GM of football if we get rid of MONn

I think a fresh set of eyes in a crucial role would be a good thing.

MON taking up the Tigers job means we don't have to sack him or pay him out.

We haven't been terrible under MON he has certainly got our salary cap in shape where we competed for a few years.

Been some flops in there as well.

But overall he gets a pass mark

It’s more to do with actually getting players on board once identified, did hear some stories that the R&R committee were unwilling to sanction some identified targets due to the salaries expected.

The club needs to not shop at Aldi continually, that’s for staff and players, now I’m sure The Ram would be happy to step up to the plate and get things done. As has been said many times, big clubs do big things, we are definitely a big club by any measure.

The 1 was pretty good. I liked the 10. A couple of other forwards really had a crack. The frizzy haired centre is a goer. The 7 is quality. Not as bad a team as I first thought. Definitely lots of potential. Nice to win.
4 Eels teams won last weekend. Awesome!

We would have been title favorites with the likes of NC and Roosters had we managed to hold on to most of our squad from last year.

Our best two backs are Cassey Tohi-Hiku(The frizzy haired centre) and Zali Fay the Winger who I think has also got the best athletes(runners) body in the NRLW. Abbi Church is ok too but she isn't in the same league as our previous two fullbacks or the better ones in the game in the other teams.

Hopefully they give us the team list for Flegg, who are not only playing in the finals but have future NRL players in the side. And would also put 100 on the NRLW team.
