1. Josh Dugan - give the kid a go, he has guts than the junk NSW wheeled out last night
2. Jarryd Hayne - Lack of options is the main driver behind him staying, he is one of the few guys NSW have who can win you a game on his own
3. Michael Jennings - We need players who can score points in the side, period
4. Chris Lawrence - Very strong defender, and offers 100x more in attack than Cooper or Scott
5. Brett Morris - Great finisher, just needs to sort out his defence
6. John Sutton - Give the bloke a go, better 5-8 than Lyon or Gidley, plus Bazza is gone
7. Mitchell Pearce - Tough kid, very strong defender, was NSW's best last night behind a woeful pack
8. Kade Snowden - Another guy who deserves a shot, wouldn't let anybody down
9. Robbie Farah - We have lacked serious creativity in the first 2 games, give him another crack
10. Aiden Tolman - How does White get picked over this guy?
11. Anthony Watmough - Aggression
12. Nathan Hindmarsh/Chris Heighington - someone who will work there arse off for 80 minutes. I am leaning towards Hino but I think he has a little to much BS in his game still
13. Luke Lewis - The most complete player NSW have, play him the full 80, just because he starts at lock doesn't mean you can't shift him around if you have to

14/15. (2 of) Keith Galloway/Luke Douglas/Tim Mannah - Depends on how Sauce goes against Canberra since he has been out for a while, Dougy won't let a single person down neither will Mannah
16. Paul Gallen - Aggression
17. Greg Bird - impact player from the bench, always plays well for the blues

Hot dog, we have a wiener! :D

Haha, no that is a very good team, but I'd consider LOD as a safe competitor for Bird's spot. Kevin Gordon aiming for Hayne's spot as a genuine winger too.

Mack, good pick-up on Aubs. Great player and would do well at this level.

Big statement yes, but I think he will be the new Menzies. Awesome tackling technique, gets his head low and rounds them up well. Very mobile, follows his halves around the field sniffing out gaps like an outside back, runs off their shoulder, seems to always poke his head through the line and look for an offload.

On the plus side, Laurie Daley seems to rate him too, that gives us a hope of seeing him play.

Anyone for having Brandy Alexander as the head coach and selector? Seems to be the only one going around with his head screwed on properly.

My team:

1. Jarryd Hayne - He has to be in the team and he's a liability on the wing. In a side that's dominated it's hard for him to shine. Get a decent forward pack and hooker and watch him carve up.

2. Brett Morris - Great finisher and has excelled for Australia. Just had far better centres then Cooper inside him. Deserves to keep his spot.

3. Josh Morris - Was part of the team that won Game 3 last season. Has a great combination with Brett and is actually a dangerous attacking player.

4. Michael Jennings - Was part of the team that won Game 3 last season. Is a great attacking player and his defence isn't as bad as people make out. Greg Inglis managed to prove that no one is going to stop him if he fires, so pick someone who can give him a headache aswell.

5. Michael Gordon - Might seem like bias, but he's a great specialist right hand winger and has a combination with Jennings. You certainly won't see him making the mistakes that Hayne and Monaghan did.

6. Trent Barrett - Didn't want him in the team, but he was solid and keeping him will help Pearce in Game 3.

7. Mitchell Pearce - We need to stick with him. He's young and talented and if we have faith in him he could have a long Origin career. He just needs a decent forward pack to lay the platform for him

8. Michael Weyman - The best of a bad bunch in Games 1 and 2. Only kept for his experience and he does try hard.

9. Robbie Farah - His origin performances weren't great, but they were atleast on par with what Ennis has shown. IMO he has more potential and we should stick with him. We need some spark and he's one of few players that can provide that.

10. Aiden Tolman - Great young front rower. I think he could easily step up and out perform the likes of White, Perry, Weyman etc.

11. Paul Gallen - I'm not a fan of his, but atleast you know he will fire up and have a go. He gets through a lot of the hard work and we need him in the side.

12. Anthony Watmough - Another aggressive forward who will have a fair go and cause some damage to the Maroons.

13. Luke Lewis (c) - IMO he's the best lock in the game and he's built for this type of football. Great ball runner who takes pressure off his halves. He needs to be kept on for 80 minutes and to be used the same way he is at Penrith.

14. Greg Bird - If our forward pack is doing well, I would bring him on at 5/8 and allow him to form a combination with Pearce for next season. If Lewis goes down, he slots straight into lock and plays the same role in the team.

15. Willie Mason - With LOD likely to be suspended, I think Mason deserves another shot. With so many tough and aggressive players around him, I think he would fire right up and be great for the Blues.

16. / 17. I would fill the rest of the bench from Kade Snowden, Luke Douglas, Keith Galloway, Tim Grant and Tim Mannah. All great players at club level who have the potential to step up. At the very least they would be as good as what we have. Ideally they would provide us with some decent front row options for next year.

The only reason I'd drop Barrett is because he's retiring at the end of the year. If we'd won game 2 (lol) then he'd be the first player picked.

Barrett was solid? WTF did he do? What didn't I see? I saw him NOT take the line on. I saw him bomb Folau 3 times. I saw him aimlessly shuffle the ball onto the next player time and time again. I saw him miss a bunch of tackles. The guy has always been an utter myth.

Please - Campese, Sutton, Soward f**k even a spastic like Mullen should be given a shot.

I would pick Gordon, has it been cleared up if he's NSW or Qld?

Id personally still have Hindmarsh starting, he gets through so much quality work where Watmough and Gallen aren't so dependable.

Not sure on Mason either, I think he would lift his game if selected, but I'm not sure how much he can offer these days.

And also I would never start Tolman and Weyman together, I personally think they're just too small and will get dominated by Qld, and they are more the work rate type of guys.

Id start one with either a Snowden or Galloway who brings size and the added aggression.

1.Hayne: Wasn't great but didn't do anything wrong. Is still the future forNSW
2. Morris: Had Shocker but needs more time in Blue
3. Jennings: Too dangerous to ignore
4. Scott: Showed enough to keep Inglis quiet tonight & likes the stink
5. Uate: If he qualifies pick him before QLD find an excuse TOO!!
6. Campese: No point picking Barrett if he is retiring. Must be next in line
7. Pearce: Didnt do anything wrong is probably best option for future

8. Weyman: May not be flashy but will get the yards
9. Ennis: Should play full 80mins. Perfect for Origin
10. Douglas: Big mobile front rower ala Shillington & Scott for QLD
11. Gallen: Physical Grub who is worth the odd penalty
12. Watmough: Still best backrower for NSW if injury free
13. Lewis. My Choice for NSW captain

14. Gidley: Needs to be a utility not just a replacment hooker
15. Leroyd Lahs: Big & mobile & needs time in a blue jumper
16. Heighton: Younger faster & bigger version of hindmarsh
17. Trent Merrin: Has the most potential of any young NSW forward

One big problem was the props! Weyman was just being slammed and bumped around the entire night, white had ONE good run the entire match! Compare that to Scott and Shillington last night who were awesome. Drop both, and FFS have two props on the bench! Galloways been good, so is Douglas, Snowden, Mannah, and Mason. Leroyd-Lahrs i believe should be retained.

This has been the problem for three or four years. Weyman should consider himself lucky if he ever gets a start again. He is the best of a very, very bad bunch. Obviously White will never play Origin again. We could try to work out why he ever did but that's for another thread. It's time for the young blokes like Snowden, Mannah, Tolman and maybe Douglas to be chosen. Keep Lars. Fingers crossed he can develop much further. He has the build, he needs the mongrel. I'm not convinced the new recruits will be up to it, but I would be surprised if they can't punch through the line a bit better and play more minutes than the two imposters who wore the blue jumper last night. Finally, Mason should not be considered as he is f**ked.

Lets get this straight the side is a Queensland side by name that’s all the players playing in this side or either truly Queenslanders or new south Welshman. State of origin is wrong as this indicates place of birth so yeah we were beaten by Queensland but not by Queenslanders it’s a mixture.
How would have QLD gone without Greg Inglis, Israel Folau & Willie Tonga, that’s a big hole to fill and to make it worse if they played for NSW would be a double whammy. Real state of origin is were you are born and you play for your state not were you played your first comp game. Take Folau I read in the newspaper about his AFL defection were he is returning to Minto in Sydney were he lived for 14 years before he moved to Queensland and that’s were he played his first RL match, what a joke why is he playing for QLD ?.
I know it’s the rules but was it put it in place so QLD could win to help them win ?, I watched QLD v NSW a few years ago were I saw Inglis and Folau single handily win the game for QLD, and last night again Folau, Inglis & Tonga score again, are you kidding me take them points away and if they played for NSW and got those points for NSW how dominating would QLD be then ?.
To me it is a farce what a joke when a Queenslander says yeah we won Queenslanders are to good, I tell them yes Queensland won but there not all Queenslanders, I usually get a response yeah BUT it’s the rules, true but there not all Queenslanders end of story. Funny how they show sometimes before the match who they played for as in Toowoomba Clydesdale but never place of birth.
I remember listening to the radio station and there was a Victorian who moved to NSW to do the morning show and he was new to rugby league and they were chatting about the players and some one mentioned the players place of birth and he was confused and rightly said, hang on a minute why is he playing for QLD when he was born in NSW that’s not right, origin means place of birth, apparently in AFL that’s how they do it no wonder AFL is taking over they have got allot of things right and RL should be worried to me RL is dieing.
For the first time I did not watch QLD v NSW no interest, the fact that I found out NSW born players are playing for QLD plus the racism row has me looking to other sports, to me you play for your state you were born in that’s it.

interesting how Peter Sterling was born in Toowoomba.... yet he is considered NSW through and through and I would never expect him to think otherwise.

has this issue really been flogged to death so many times it's actually been flogged back to life?

1. Dugan - Surely even non-raiders fans can see that he is the future, and present, at fullback. Dugan has almost perfect technique for a fullback. Hayne has some flair, but IMO he is a winger
2. Hayne
3. Jennigns
4. Morris
5. Morris
6. Campese/Sutton/Soward. - No more little games (pairing veteran with rookie blah blah blah). just f***ing pick a natural five eighth (preferably the best one available) and stick with him. Green goggles on I would say campo but When taken off i would say soward. Campo needs to get back to his running best to be the front runner IMO. Sutton to me looks like a less consistent/dominant version of campese. However i wouldnt be aggreived if he got a look in.
7. Pearce. Don't f***ing touch him for kimmorley, mullen etc.
8. Weyman
9. Ennis
10. TLL
11. Watmough
12. Gallen
13. Bird

one of two options

pick a spine for the future (Dugan, Campese/Sutton, Pearce, Ennis/Farah, Lewis), and stick with it from this game right through next series baring injury

or start fresh next year and in game III pick the hardest f**king team ever assembled... anyone who doesnt mind some grubby work and some biffo, get em in there and f**k them up in game III for a laugh.
