ASADA is independent statutory government-funded agency.

I believe there has been a recent increase to it's budget.

Most anti-investigation posters are against any increase; as they believe it's an arm of the government.

You could increase the budget ten-folded; they still couldn't keep up with the chemists. Therefore, to me; it is either a white list as proposed or the current black and grey lists.

Or option 3 - do their job properly.

I can hardly blame the opposition or the Greens who are not in power.
Public debate involves a degree of bias.
Perhaps you feel the organsination was fully and abundantly resourced.

Perhaps I should blame Windsor and Oakeshott,as they hold the balance of power.

No I actually agree that they have been under resourced in the past. You pointing this out is not where your bias was displayed your bias was shown when you lumped in all the other failing of the government into a debate where they have no revelance, it was political point scoring pure and simple

If I wanted to score political points I could fill this thread.

It has been publicly acknowledged that ASADA was/is under resourced.Who provides the funding to ensure efficient handling of said matters?...........fill in the blanks.
If that is a political statement then so be it.
This matter could have should have been resolved earlier if the resources had been fully available and utilised, and any guilty parties cited.

You are citing Evans and contador ,yet one suggests most trusted people were involved in the current disputation.Where do you draw the line? Have your mum present? I just don't want innocents burnt.

Yes I cited Evans and Contador and the responsibility of who an athlete trusts is their responsibility, if a an athlete places trust in someone and they don't live up to that trust that is the athletes fault. They made the decision to place their livlihoods in the hands of these people, no one else did. If their mum is an expert in anti-doping and a trust worthy person then maybe they should have their mum present.

who report to the sports minister

Taipan, see my point. It is all a government conspiracy. Sorry, a Labor Party, socialist conspiracy to attack sport; especially rugby league as these commies love AFL.

You can't be a sports lover (who has a son bordering a possible career - not saying he will make it) who wants a level playing field for all and not having young blokes being injected with sheep brain extracts and other vodoo shit etc. If you are, you are a Juila lover and a commie.

Somehow, they believe that when Libs get into power in Sept; they will close this investigation.

Your first line reinforced my point.I am aware the smarties will keep ahead of the pack, but at least having decent funding enables them (the agency) to get closer quicker.Instead of this awful drawn out mess,we are now facing.
A recent increase!!! meaning the funding was really lacking, and its a horse has bolted mentality.

I have no argument against increased funding to this independent government-funded statutory agency. In fact, I'm all for it.

Well it all falls back into their laps, the Govt in power has the purse strings .
The announcement and the scope of it " "'darkest day over a number of codes " ,the calling in of all the sporting bodies, the leaks that have come out,the lack of human and tech resources, that is all Govt related. Call it point scoring, whatever,it is relevant to the debate.
To believe this was handled well by the Govt,is delusional.

All other failings.I called them inept.

Then the code should ban the use of any form of supplements,to avoid any chance of untoward behaviour.

Darkest Days - comment from someone with no connection to the investigation.

Leaks - drawing a long bow; to suggests the leaks are from the government or ASADA.

I would rather stick to facts; not subjective (at times, bias) guesses.

Number of codes!!!! I listened in to the conference in toto.No more than saying the leaks did not come from ASADA or the Govt.Ings the former ASADA employee certainly is sprouting off.
Lundy was berated by memebers of her own party ,about the handling of the issue.
Gvts of all persuasions leak like sieves at timessuggest they are as tight as drums is living in fantasy land.
I am still awaiting the facts, haven't sighted them here.

So the NBN is relevant to this debate, you are political point scoring and I would much prefer to focus on the sport, if their are drug cheats in Australian sport than I want them gone.

And you wont; the facts will only be made public at the end of the investigation and when players, if any, are issued with notices to appear before their sporting bodies anti-drug panels (for want of a better name to cover all sports) regarding their use of performance enhancing drugs.
