and yes you read it right - Seau did look good at 42 in charge of the NE defense however....

Pats: Vrabel, Brushci, Seymour, Harrison, Law, Milloy, Washington, Wilfork, Samuel, McGinest ... Come on now everyone knew the names of these guys.

Colts: Freeney, Sanders (always injured) ... Hmmmn how many other well known Colts defenders has there been the last decade?

he shoots he scores

Other QB's with only one Superbowl victory - Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, Trent Dilfer.......

Plenty of arguments as to why Brady could be considered better, more arguments as to why Manning could be considered better.

They will both go in the Hall of Fame first ballot anyway.

Did someone just say the AFC East was tougher than the AFC South?

Are they serious?

Tuck Rule.

Can't hit a QB anymore.

He's not too bad atleast he showed some balls when he criticised Bellichick.

Oh and it's alot easier to be the QB when you know what the defense is calling... Spy gate.... .... ...

just remember the SB win talley;-)

I really don't think Brady gets the credit he deserves - i don't really like the bloke, Peyton is the perfect role model etc, a guy i look more then Brady, but credit where it's due, he has done an unbelievable job with the Pats.

People like to use the SB win talley in other arguments eg Rice over Moss, but when i use other plays the stat isn't as applicable?

manning....

lets look at his superbowl.

in the afc they beat the chiefs, ravens who had no offense, meanwhile a string of weird and flukey plays that only happen to M shottenheimer meant that the chargers lost to the pats. giving them an unexpected home game.

the pats then go to indi, are thrashing them and then a series of unfortunate events loses them the game. weird and unexlainable sh*t goes down.

the colts then play rex grossman in the superbowl.

brady is better. 3 superbowls and a 50td year.

Manning has made his O-Line look good year after year after year. The Colts never use high drafts picks on O-Lineman unlike the Pats. The only one is Tony Ugoh who barely plays these days.

Sure Ben R.... is good and can avoid a sack as good as anyone but to put him in the same category as Brady and Manning is ridiculous. There are reasons he doesn't get spoken about when the topic of best Qb comes up on any of the networks.

I respectfully disagree.

The reason Brady and Manning are spoken about in ways no other QB is is pretty much because they're the commentators' flavour of the month. That's not to say they are bad players, because they are both great QBs. But it's much like NRL commentators' obssession with Andrew Johns - super talented, sure, but best ever? Hmmm...

One thing they always prattle on about regarding Manning and Brady is their ability to win a game at the death. Anyone catch Pittsburgh's 37-36 win against Green Bay? Ben Roethlisberger won them the game with a TD after full-time after trailing by 6. He went on a drive and threw the game-winning TD. Not only that, he avoided several strong sack attempts to keep the game alive.

I just don't think you can be quite so dismissive of a young QB who has already won 2 rings (and will win more before he retires), is the most sacked QB in the league (and yet he still has success) and is a leader of men. He may not have the same skill sets as a Brady or Manning, but I would easily put Big Ben up there with them based on his impressive record.

Now, if you wanted to compare QBs solely on brains or aptitude for the game, then yeah - Brady and Manning are in a league of their own.

Weird unexplainable sh*t?

Like the Colts O-Line finally dominating the Pats? Like Manning making clutch pass after pass? Like Brady throwing an INT on a potential game winning drive?

The Pats Vs Colts was the real Superbowl that year.

Lets not get started on Brady's 50 TD year Vs Mannings 49 TD year. Brady is out there throwing bombs when up 35-0 while Manning barely played 14 games that year when you take out all the time he sat out.

If you judge who is the best QB by Superbowl wins then fine, Brady wins. If you do it by every other facet of being a QB then Manning wins most of those categories comfortably.

Can't argue with you much. I'm not dismissing him, this playoffs will tell us a lot about the elite QB's. In my opinion, can't ask for much more than Manning, Brady, Big Ben and Rivers all fighting for a spot in the Superbowl.

I am just happy the Colts get week one off.

well the general opinion is that Brady is better, pretty hard not to argue with that as it's pretty much commonsense...

but i thought Manning made his o-line look good? and so what if he's throwing bombs, takes a tonne of skill to throw one - particular to a bloke like Moss who's always double teamed - if anything it makes him an even greater QB.

What i found funny this year was that when the pats plaved the colts, Brady absolutely owned Manning, it was embarrasing, and quite clear that Brady had one up on him, if it wasnt for some bad play calling, the pats win comfortably, but in the record it will say Manning won the duel, but whoever saw the game would know that Brady won by first round KO
