I think most people (Patriot lovers aside) believe that the truth will never come out about Spygate. Goodell destroyed the tapes anyway. If it was no big deal then why not release all of them? If the taping even effected the outcome of one game (no matter which game) then you would have to strip the Pats of that win and that would have created a sh*t storm that would have seriously damaged the NFL.

if it were that bad they would've been striped of evewrything - simple as that, the fact they were destroyed tells me that it was really that irrelevant and not important.

3rd and 3 at the Patriots 38 yard line - do you really know what they're going to call? everything in the game changes from momement to moment, if a running back makes 9 yards on a previous play - more then likely they'll use something similar next time around. If a QB throws an imcomplete on 3rd and 2, more then likley you'll run the next play - no one knows not even bill what the next play is going to be - simple as that - hence why spygate is overrated.

Your post is confusing. Bill B even admitted that his staff took notes from the tapes looking for an edge in future match ups. This alone is bad and I believe and so do many others that this is probably just scraping the surface.

Go ask some Eagles and Steelers players from the first half of the 00's what they think (off the record).

I'd disagree - Fui has been playing well since 2005. That's 5 years' worth of good form.

Peyton has won a ring.

I'd argue that overall, the 2001 Eels were the better team but on the night - the only night that counts - Newcastle were better.

There are plenty of brilliant athletes who never get the ultimate prize - why, just in league, we have Andrew Ettingshausen who never won a title. Joey himself is regarded as the best ever yet he only won 2 titles.

I think it's sensible to include Super Bowl wins as part of the debate, but not as the basis for the decision. Being a team game you will see many great players never win a Super Bowl, but that doesn't make them any less of a star.

Nmamdi Asomugha, sadly, will probably never win a Super Bowl. But damn if he isn't the best damn cornerback in the game...

From memory the biggest issue was the offensive players knowing the defensive call as someone was watching the D signals, that, at the time, where gestures as there was no mic for the D.

Easy to throw slants when you know you have man to man, easy to throw deep when you know it is 0 deep coverage. Easy to sit in zones when you know if it is a cover 2, or 3 or 4 Deep. Real easy to pick the Mike backer when you know exactly who is blitzing.

It was the fact that their defense were calling the names of the offensive plays they were facing that gave them away.... a little to greedy.
