It's working for us now too. Half our first grade side is busted and we're still winning games. Plus it's the only way we could fit Foran in next year.
Or Foran is just too expensive, we can't hope to build a competitive side around him. We should have gotten two good forwards instead..........

Why don't we just wait until next year to see what Foran brings. And we did buy a current origin forward.

I think you will find that hineyrulz was taking the piss out of Poups (odd sentence that). One of Poupou's constant catch cries as to why Jarryd should not be retained by the Eels was that we could sign two good forwards with his cap space instead. hineyrulz is applying a similar argument to Foran, who is taking up a similar amount of cap space as Jarryd would have.

With all due respect, we're using a part-time coach, and coming 11th; other teams are using a full-time coach and will play Finals.

And our best under 20s player has been in first grade all year.

Winning lower grade competitions isn't the point of the lower grades. The point is player development, and an article earlier in the week says we are third out of all NRL clubs for producing first graders since 2008 (NYC inception). Until recently our problem hasn't been producing them, it has been keeping them.

Fair points.

I've missed you.

He almost certainly is too expensive - we'll have to wait and see if we're able to surround him with a quality team, which will be judged on the improvement of our youngsters #'academy'

But whatever Foran costs, you know that a two-time Dally M winner and wannabe NFL star would have cost more. And as we've seen since 2008, with five different coaches Hayne has played finals footy once (from an 8th place finish) and never been in a team strong enough for top four. We know for a fact Hayne was too expensive. Let's just hope Foran isn't.

Never played finals footy since he won the Dally M on a winger's salary. Since then he went five straight years without a top eight finish. If you've got any evidence he wasn't too expensive I'd be happy to see it.

oh, I see, its Hayne's fault we didn't make the finals for those years, naughty Jarryd

way to miss the point

I'm not arguing about how much he is worth, my point still remains that your opinion is not a fact, its just our opinion

Everything is someone's opinion, even the facts. And the fact is Hayne is the common denominator in a nine year period where his highest finish was fifth - in the year he turned 19.

Has to be Haynes fault Twiz. Pou has a narrative of blame shifting away from Kearney and his incompetence.

Yes, it is Haynes fault that he was getting paid the same amount as Hoppa....
if you have any proof to the contrary I would like to see it....

Kearney was here less than two seasons. Hayne helped us fail for nigh on a decade.

Just like you I can't prove anything, but if you want evidence against your assertion, here it is:

Hayne: Origin star, 150 NRL games, Dally M winner, signing for a desperate club

Hopoate: Origin rookie, a dozen NRL games, about to spend two years on holiday, signing for a desperate club

I'll let you decide who would have cost more. Provide some evidence if you could be bothered.

We had a loosing culture. This is the best common denominator we've got.

So who is responsible for this?

When did it start?
Has BA brought it to an end?
Or is BA bringing it to an end shortly?

The loosing culture impacted every facet of our club.

Why else have we experienced so much shit since the 1986 GF?

Almost every decision would have been made in the image of the loosing culture.

Obvious DF was highly instrumental in this defeatist culture kicking in and from there it spread and spread while ebbing and flowing here and there. And in spite of whatever we tried to do improve things the defeatist attitude would continue to find legs and just kept expanding until it ripened in full glory between 2011 and 2015.

Maybe the worst of this is over. Lets wait and see.

Kearney was only here 2 years, but he did a great deal of damage. Signed everyone to massive overs, and his idea of junior talent was Billy Rogers. Oh dear.

The papers say Hoppa and Hayne were on same $$. Don't believe everything you read, but do you have proof they are wrong?

The stuff you point out about each player might just indicate how vacuous Kearney was??
Lussick $400k+. Lol.

again, nope

Here is a new thread started by Gronk

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=448050

Is that his opinion ?

Once again, nope

Its a genuine source to the facts, not an opinion.

I understand you want to put your opinion forward and that's what forums are for but you really need to get over yourself.
