Pathetic Manly Fans

The NRL will move ANY Sydney teams game to ANZ or SFS depending on who they are playing. If its two Sydney teams it will get moved to ANZ. If not, Prob SFS.
Sydney teams with their old derelict Suburban stadiums now have NO rights as they dont have the capacity to hold enough numbers and/or their stadiums are so shit they dont have enough dressing room/facilities for 4 teams.

Sydney teams dont have any rights at the HOME game in round 1 to ensure the greater good of the game.
Manly doesnt believe in the greater good. They believe in whining when something doesnt go their way.

ANZ/SFS will be the home of Sydney Finals for years to come.

What are you talking about? The semis should be played where it will bring the biggest crowd - if that happens to be Brookvale Oval rather than SFS then so be it.

Look...lets be honest..

They need to change it back to the way it was...

If the Higher ranked team wants to play the game at their 20,000 Capacity stadium, then let them...

Brisbane is the only non Sydney team that will get more than 20,000 anyway to a week 1 game...

Wests voiced their displeasure at having their game moved away from the SFS but you barely hear about it because the sheep can't get away from moaning about Manly. Of course clubs like Wests, Souths, Roosters and Bulldogs will support "the greater good" because it forces other clubs away from their home grounds while generally allowing them to play at their home grounds. The idea is supported by the non-Sydney teams for the same reason. North Queensland were noted in the media as saying they were very happy they got to play Manly at a more neutral venue because winning at Brookvale is so difficult. This has nothing to do with the greater good, it is about a hypocrisy in the NRL. They are doing everything they can to increase tv revenue and sacrificing the ability of fans to attend matches and then blaming it all on the clubs. They want more kids supporting the game but then the finals are played at an hour when most have gone to bed. Another stroke of brilliance from Gallop.

No. It shouldnt.
You dont cater for the lowest common denominator which in this case is Manly fans.

No Sydney team gets a guaranteed home game final in round 1. Even if Souths or Doggies make the top 4, if they play an out of state team, it may get played at the SFS.

In the words of The Rock "It doesnt matter what you think"
This is what the NRL has decided. This is what the majority of the clubs have agreed upon. This is what the majority of the fans WANTED for the last few years.
Its going to be sticking around. And the constant whining of Manly fans isnt going to change a thing.
f**k Brooky. Its a hole. Most of the surburban grounds are not far behind.
SFS/ANZ all the way for finals.

Nope.

Considering how much people showed up on Friday that would have been locked out if it was at the SFS. But what if the tigers wanted it at Lie or C-town.
Shit. Lets let them do that too.

No.

Maybe the local member for Warringah , Tony Abbott, can set aside some funds to increase the capacity at Brookvale when he gets in next year...

Problem solved!!

The fact is it's home town advantage now, the Manly disgrace will be the exception not the rule.

Except for the fact that St Merge barely drew a bigger crowd at their home ground last year. But I guess it's all forgotten because it wasn't Manly.

Actually it's the Filth that we played, hence the low numbers. Filth fans won't travel to support their team.

When the same 2 teams played in a week 1 final at Brookvale there were 5,000 more fans. And they certainly weren't Stains fans. Seems Manly fans are more likely to go to Brookvale than Stains fans are to go to Oki Choki.

Well now you're just guessing. You could be right though, who'd want to go to that shit hole unless they wanted to piss on some restaurant walls after the game?

Guessing? How so? It is true that Kogarah is a shithole but you shouldn't be so harsh on the place. It is full of wankers, it would otherwise be a nice place.

In 1990 and 1993, Brisbane played Canberra at the SFS. Both crowds were in excess of 35,000. Manly played Brisbane in 1994 and the crowd was around that number too. FFS, Cronulla used to get decent crowds to semis.

We need two things:
1. Revert to a system where every game has a meaning. Elimination finals bring September fans out in force.
2. Eradicate home finals completely. If you were good enough in the old days, you came to Sydney and proved it. Canberra did it, Brisbane did it etc. The reward for making the Top 4 should be the chance to play another Top 4 team for a spot in Week 3. The reward for running 5th to 8th should be 4 must win finals to win the comp.

They also need to look at the Saturday timeslots too. An afternoon game at 4.00pm and then another game at 7.45 would be sensational. Won't happen but it would be good.

We should never play a finals game anywhere smaller than Parramatta Stadium.

Well given the ground was packed, either the capacity is wrong - very unlikely - or the crowd announced was wrong - very likely, if you've seen the report that was around a while ago from Stadiums Queensland (I think) on crowd announcements.

Then again, it could be that there was no away support, as we've seen Manly fans can't travel an extra 20ks let alone all the way to Kogarah.

Then again, it could be that that was what caused the change which Manly agreed to.

Considering my ex wanted to go to that game, but couldnt as it was broadcast as sold out. I think it was wrong crowd announced.
