hell no
Imagine what his average would be if they let him play South Africa last yearImagine if Hughes was given the same uninterrupted run at the top of the order. His average would be much higher than it is now.
If Hughes gets another big 100 tomorrow the pressure will be overwhelming to bring him in for Perth. For Rogers or even for Watson. If Bailey and Smith fail today their spots could be in jeopardy as well.

Martyn was a great play with a beautiful technique, don't ever compare him to Hughes
Martyn's feet were like blocks of concrete, he had a magnificent array of cut shots, but driving was his weak area. He scored plenty on the bouncy Aussie pitches.
scored 444 runs in the 4 tests in India 2004 (ave 55.50) - 2x100s, 2x50s
Don't think we win that series without him
His overall test average is 46.37
In Australia 46.86
I didn't say he was shit. It helps being a strong square of the wicket player in India.scored 444 runs in the 4 tests in India 2004 (ave 55.50) - 2x100s, 2x50s

back injuries in england and india in recent years havent helped. Be interesting if he turns that around in the time he has left, because I'm not sure how long his back will hold up.fine player - myth that he was only suited to Aust conditions
Clarke, on the other hand - 65 at home, 42 away.... I laughed out loud when they had that silly "who is the best batsman in the world poll"
Surprised people are still talking about Hughes... those of us outside Aust realised he was shit from the start
