Seriously though, I'm calling it here - Skyward Sword will win multiple GOTY awards, beating Skyrim and Uncharted.

Also, as cool as Halo bashing apparently is on the interwebz, Halo Reach is the most enjoyable FPS i've ever played, Halo 3 not far behind. Cod4 was amazing too. And the original Perfect Dark back in the day. I really need to play Half Life 2.

Total disappointment as a console overall but there are quite a few very good games on there, almost all of them Nintendo's usual franchises.

I believe Skyward Sword will be the best, but again I'm a massive Nintendo fan boy who has been hanging out for a new console Zelda since 2007. How do we know these games are more than likely to be good? A proven track record, you ask any unbiased person for a top 10 games of all time and 9 times out of 10 a Zelda title will be named. The same fir Skyrim, you just have to look back at Oblivion, Morrowind etc.

However this is straying from the whole PS3 Vs. 360 fan boy flame war.

And the Zelda games on CD-i that never existed don't count towards my argument.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 was one of the best games of this generation. I havent seen anything to say that Zelda would be better. That's my opinion - no different that I think Skyrim will be better, much as adamkungl and Parra Pride think Zelda will be the best game this year.

Timely thread, my xbox is playing up again and im f*cking fed up with M$

Their troubleshooting is woeful, they dont care about their customers. I get told my problem should be sorted on Nov 25th, when the new dashboard is released... in the meantime i just have to but up with a console that refuses to play new games. So ive pre ordered a number of games and cant play them till the 25th, even then its not a certainty

When i get some $$ ill be switching to PS3, i love Live but this has to be the most unreliable piece of sh*t of all time

Yes, and we are comparing two unfinished products to one another as well, which is probably even more farcical than comparing an unfinished game to established standards.

I haven't seen anything at all to say it will be better than a handful of games that came out this year. Maybe I'll be proved wrong. You and I are both speculating, no different from one another.
When you say it could realize the full potential of the Wii, what do you mean exactly? The mixture of the Wii's controllers, visuals and so on?
I've no doubt that, being Zelda, it will be a phenomenal game. But better than Skyrim and a few others? I am very doubtful.
The same thing as "realizing the full potential" of a platform could be said with Skyrim as well in some ways.

That sucks, if the fix doesn't work they should be able to send you a new ones long as you still have proof of purchase and related stuff.

Meh, idc...I stopped taking fanboy arguments seriously a looong time ago. right now I'm more interested in justifying to myself spending money on both a Ps3 and a 3DS... and modern warfare 3... I already have a Wii and an Xbox with countless games I dont have time to play.

Haha that's pretty much the way I think, that's why I was very reluctant to post in this thread - the fanboy wars just pull me in though, mostly because the blindness of one's own faults and the strengths of the other usually aren't acknowledged.

Thats a hard choice to be sure. I don't know about new consoles myself, I'm mostly interested in the Vita, because I am going to wait until the Wii-U, the Xbox 720 and the PS4 are all out before I buy one of the major consoles. I have been looking at maybe getting a Wii, because I love Mario, Mario Kart, Super Snash Bros, Zelda and so on but the prices of the exclusivesare a massive turn off - they still retail Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart, et al for $100!

its f**ked hey, I still dont have Mario galaxy 2, it's so hard to justify spending $100 on a game when 360 games are going for $50 after a few months.
