I have said before the standard is poor. It has been like that for a few years though.
What rules could the game bring in tomorrow that would make Dogs etc be better?
That is the problem with putting the blow outs down to only the rules. The rules slowly get wound back and you still have the holes in junior development.
Coaching is at an all time low. If I am starting up a side tomorrow and can pick any coach... There is only 4 I would want ( 1 of those isn't my club's coach either)
I am all for looking into the blowouts but need to be done as a overall look at everything including rules
A lot players are just giving up in the game
Could be a new covid or old NYC attitude
Good effort by slothfield tonight to turn the heat off Vlandys and direct it at Wayne Pearce lol!
What you didn’t preface it with; Sloth asked why people on the commission with a football brain, that have played at this level, like Wayne Pearce, question these changes.Good effort by slothfield tonight to turn the heat off Vlandys and direct it at Wayne Pearce lol!

It’s not just the six again
The move to do away with the ‘unlimited’ tackle rule that had been played in Australia for 59 seasons was the brainchild of the urbane secretary of the Rugby Football League in England,…pythagonrl.com
I think this is a pretty well balanced article and worth reading. Even for people who support the current situation
Essentially the game has removed a lot of tools weaker teams could use to help them. Let's focus on two of them. Firstly penalty goals. Yes, penalty goals are hardly exciting but they gave a weaker team the chance at points without having to go through a better teams defensive line and they would get the ball back from the kick off giving them possession.
Secondly the removal of offside as a penalty. Here is where I think the problem largely falls. Good teams (especially the storm) fly off the defensive line like maniacs. Offside or onside it doesn't really matter as long as
A) it's early in the tackle count
B) it's in the oppositions half but especially 20m
C) good contact is made
Now in the pre 2021 days if a team did that they would give away a penalty and the poor team being suffocated could take a breather and kick for field possession. Now they get a set restart (this might be on tackle 1 and 5m out from your own goal line)
I don't think it's a coincidence that the top teams are keeping their opponents in their own end in numbers not seen before.
Now so far so what but the nrl is still in the entertainment business and games are getting blown out earlier
What is in this for the viewer
Thats not what he said, and certainly wasnt the context! He started off by intimating that Vlandys gets the blame for everything then went on to put a target on Wayne Pearce. Whosew to say Pearce wasnt massively opposed, whose ot say Vlandys and his puppet Abdo even asked him? What you didn’t preface it with; Sloth asked why people on the commission with a football brain, that have played at this level, like Wayne Pearce, question these changes.
but hey, don’t let the true narrative get in the way of your anti-PVL propaganda
Urrrgghhhh f**k your boring - The guy could save you from a burning car and you'd bitch he didn't grab your phone as well....Thats not what he said, and certainly wasnt the context! I suspect now the tide is turning against VLandys his media mates will start to try and deflect to the other commisioners the blame for the screw up the game has become, first shots fired towards Wayne by Sloth.
In summary yes. If the rules are now magnifying the gap between the very good teams and the avg teams (lets not even worry about the 2-3 crap teams) then as an entertainment spectacle that gets most of its revenue from people watching the product on tv it is not a good thing. Even worse is we are about to negotiate a new fta tv deal, with the product being so poor at the moment it is hardly a bargaining position of strength. Too many changes all at once is the problem, if the 4 or 5 major changes made had been brought in over 4 or 5 years then teams would have slowly adapted and we might not have the scenario we have now. Rushing them all through at once has changed the entire fabric of the game.So hang on a minute here... Are people genuinely wanting rules in place to allow a losing team to have a leg up to make it a closer game at the end...?
Teams need to get better, not change the rules AGAIN to give losing teams a way out of losing.
All teams are operating under the same rules, so to blame them for mediocre performances from shit teams is just silly.
call it as I see it, tell me I'm wrong lol.Urrrgghhhh f**k your boring - The guy could save you from a burning car and you'd bitch he didn't grab your phone as well....
So you essentially want a scripted outcome... WWE may be good for you mate.In summary yes. This is a good post but have you considered just assembling a grand final calibre team? It’s not just the six again

We get it, you don't want to hear anything other than how good the Panthers are.
