while we continue to run a sliding defence we will continue to do it hard. The dragons are a average pack but made 10 meters every carry by all there forwards .Simple don't move up in defence don't win game

Allowing that peahearted performance. If a captain can't swing the attitude when we are getting touched up by a pretty average team then he's not fit for the job
OK so you wanted to see him remonstrating in goal every time the opposition scored. Not everyone does that.

Hes too nice a guy and way too timid imo. Give it to Wallace until Yeo is ready. Wal is a pretty standard player but tough as f**k. A man who plays on after doing ACL's looking you in the eye and calling you a pussy has to work

Sounds a bit like blind panic after a single loss to me. Luckily we have calmer heads steering the ship.

Did you see how good Matagi played for the eels.
Matagi is heaps better than Tamou, Browne, Latu our whole pack.
Bring back Matagi, Latimore, Soward

Matagi made plenty of pea hearted defensive efforts like the ones that conceded points yesterday. I liked him but it's stupid to suggest he'd have been the difference in that mess.

Also to my eye Moylan regularly gives the team a spray when things aren't going well. Whether he gets listened to is another issue.

Reminds me of our round 1 loss to the Knights a few years back. Except back then we weren't the premiership favourites...

Could easily single out Cartwright and a few other choice players who were awful. But lets face it, just about the whole team was terrible. They didn't show up and overall looked unfit for round 1. Very disappointing.

One shout out for Martin. Looked very dangerous with the ball in hand. Looking forward to seeing more of him this year.

Every team this weekend can take home something positive. Penrith's positive? Not sure...maybe gets the favourites tag of our heads.

Dear This Year,
I understand that you little faith in your team. I understand that you think your coach should be sacked.
But you must understand that I have been a Panthers supporter for more than 30 years. And if I tell you that your team is at home and you have some serviceable first graders and Penrith are considered to be competition favorites and a lay down misere to win. Then this is exactly the time that we don't turn up and you could have made yourself some serious coin.

I don't think the Panthers will play that bad again this season. Better to get one like that out of the way in rd1 instead of in the finals. Like someone else said in the thread, maybe they just thought they'd need to show up to win and once things got real, they couldn't find any rhythm.

After 4 years of rubbish I think my little faith in my team is justified, but yesterday it felt good to see my side win because it doesn't happen very often in recent times.

As disappointing and spineless as that performance was I don't feel as though there is a lot much to be concerned with at this point. The likelihood is that every team will have a game like that at some point of the season, I'd rather we have it now than in Rd 26.

Of course if things were to continue along the same path than that would be a whole different kettle of fish.

Cartwright still made 38 tackles. The problem was he missed the ones that led to tries. De Bellin should of been tackled by Wallace and who ever else missed it before going to Moylan.

Akouala in. Yeo defending inside TMM and a Gus blasting is what we need. That Blake try was the only highlight TMM was decent enough
