The forwards really aimed up tonight, was so impressed by the 3 new guys, Sims looks like he belongs, Fa'alogo looks to have that mongrel we need and Cuthbo is a good change to the usual dumb forwards, he picks good spots to run at and picks up a lot of good metres.

Roberts needs to be our halfback. He played tremendously last year when Gidley got injured and once again showed how good he is. I don't want to see Gidley get shafted to the bench week in and week out, but perhaps for the greater good of the team, he should wear the 14.

Snowden needs to be dropped. Some quality runs, but he really isn't up to scratch and gives away some shocking and unneeded penalties. Fa'alongo played great in his debut in the colours and deserves a spot on the team in Snowy's place.

Overall, we looked like a top eight team and I think we can push top four. I don't believe the Tigers back in round one were bad until we piled on the points. Same thing happened tonight. The Cowboys started dropping off once we scored the three tries. It will be interesting to watch us go against Storm, Souths and Manly at home because they're out hoodoo.

Very good performance from the team.

Sims was awesome, hope he's a regular and continues to improve. You wouldn't be able to tell which one was on 400k and 100k between him and Snowden..

Dang, missed the game. Jumped on the net full expecting to see us on the receving end of the score we just beat the Cows by after reading the final team list earlier today. Nice suprise.

Going by the stats only it looks like Fa'alogo and Cuthbertson really made the most of their chance - fair assumption?

Sims was very strong in his limited minutes too, but the guys you mentioned were great.

Roberts certainly made the most of his stint at halfback too if you count that. And McKinnon at centre. Pretty much everyone stood up and played well which leaves us with a lot of competition for forward places.

Also McKinnon will return to the pack to make room for our returning centres leaving McKinnon, Faalongo, Cuthbo, Sims and Nev to fight for two spots if Mason and Scott play next week (and assuming he keeps Snowy and runs with a hooker on the bench i guess). I would say Rochow has his spot tied down, he was brilliant tonight and has been all season.

I would say Nev is the only easy guy to drop (though Wayne favours him).

All the talk will be how woeful the Cows were but we pressured the errors from them.
Mullen took much more of a lead. He has more talent to read the game and if it he keeps it up we'll see some more great performances.
I reckon we really won that in the first 20 with top defense. That set us p for the rest of the game.
Good to see Boyd around the ruck and going into Dummy Half.
Uate made no spectacular runs but was a deadset workhorse.

We must have really aimed up in defence too unless the Cowboys had no ball? Regardless of how badly the Cows may be performing as a side you simply don't keep Scott and Tamou to less than 170m combined unless you really hit them hard at the line with numbers constantly. I daresay that is the lowest yardage that front row has ever made as a combo.

We did. We gave the Cowboys a lot of ball in the first 15 minutes through penalties and dropped ball... but we kept them to 6. Then the points started to flow, and we never looked back. I wouldn't say our line-speed was Manly-at-Brookie-like... but it was good... and our goal-line defence was rock solid. The try Cooper scored was 1-on-1 with Tyrone... he did his best and almost got him, but Cooper is a specialist at scoring close to the line... and Tyrone just didn't have the size to stop him.

I think Roberts is the overlooked man tonight. He's practically coming up against JT after having a great pre season and showing promise and confidence in the first 2 games. Let's see really how far he has come along and what he can do tonight in 80 minutes playing his favorite position.
Just wanna say... I called it.

Going by tonight I really hope McKinnon keeps his starting spot till Leilua is available. I've thought for a long time that Korbin Sims would be able to handle first grade and he certainly did not look out of place at all, 100m from 10 hit ups coming off the bench is awesome from a debutant

They weren't just meter eating runs either. He hit the line very hard, and hit hard in defence too. I think if you could get him on the fringes (as somebody suggesting they were training him for) he will be a real tackle busting nightmare.

Good to see Wayne run out of patience with Snowden tonight and hook him in the first half. We looked good after that.

Yes, Roberts was huge tonight. He should be our halfback, that can't be understated... and I don't think Wayne can ignore it. This is Bedsys last year, and we have no great candidate to succeed him. Roberts is on fire. Gidley to hooker, Bedsy to bench, or vice versa. Pull the trigger, Wayne.

Will be very interesting who gets the jerseys next week. At least one good thing we have some good depth now. But in saying that the Cowboys were shit would love to know who put the $26 grand on the Knight just before the start of the game!

I didn't much rate Quinn or Snowden's performances tonight. Everybody else looked fine to me. Super fine.

I think a big difference tonight was also the impact offered by our bench. Buderus was very sharp when he came on and he provides quick service to the halves like nobody else in the team. Fa'alogo, Sims and Cuthbertson all provided real impact as well. Very impressed with Fa'alogo and the intent that he ran the ball with.

I thought Quinn looked much better this week. Nothing spectacular but solid,

I have been ranting about Slowden for a long, long time now - nothing changed tonight other than his pride being dented. He is still slooooooooowwwwwww. A big mistake signing him. I don't think he can turn it around anymore.
