Newcastle have 13,047 members.

Let's say "most" is 90%.

You're telling me over 10,000 Knights fans are glad to see him go?

Bwah ha ha ha.

No club likes losing a rep centre.

Not trying to rile you guys up but just sick of hearing the myth that he's been our best player like he's carried a bunch of geniuss. He hasn't. Hope he goes well for you as he's a likeable guy.

It partly comes down to attitude and hunger!!!!!!

Plus we don't have GI and Cook has been benched!!!!

We miss Brown too!!!!!!!
I agree with you mate.
One thing that comes up time after time when the experts etc are talking on TV and radio is attitude, desire, hunger, motivation etc.
We dont have it at present.
We had it in 2014.
The blues had it on Wednesday night.
I'm starting to think Madge is the problem as much as I don't want to admit it.
I draw great analogies from my work life to sporting teams.
You may be able to relate where I'm coming from R20 as from memory I believe you work at woolies?
So do I mate and I'm in my 30th year there.
I've seen plenty of managers come and go in my time and it's amazing what a new manager for the store or dept will do.
Individuals that were not motivate are all of a sudden motivated.
And those that can't be turned around are often moved on to a new role or they decide to leave the business because all of a sudden they are being challenged in a different way.
Maybe Russ and Packer need to bite the bullet.

Despite our position on the table.... I still believe we have the players. They just need the right motivation or motivator.

doyen, the last I heard is that the NRL won't let Souths announce the signing, the same as the broncos aren't allowed to announce the signing of Jack Bird.

I worked for CBA 15 years. Exactly the same.

I don't want to trash Madge (or Cody for that matter, i just dont think contract talk and sooks should be in the paper.) But we have a squad in 2017 that should compete.

Attitudes are a huge part of being a successful coach. I've played a fair bit of sport and every good coach that I've had breeds a positive attitude, whether it's by way of motivation, creating confidence or by being someone that you just don't want to let down, they get the most of you as an individual and a group.
With the current situation at Souths it just isn't there at the moment and it hasn't been for a little while now. Good coaches also have composure and get their message across without blowing a fuse.
Madge is currently failing as a coach and is holding us back. I'm sorry but he's got to go.

Apparently Richo announced today (in the interest of clearing up media speculation) that GI is and never was going anywhere.

GI will never play for Souths again. Richo can say what he wants, if GI ever runs out for us again I will bend over and kiss my own arse.

Richo also said we're not at a rebuilding stage. It is possible that GI could be either leaving or retiring at the end of the season but with Madge saying we're still in the race for this season, Maybe Richo don't want to destabilize an already destabilized team.

Sorry I must have blinked when he scored his one try and one try-assist in 11 games.

Sad to see him go but not at superstar money.
Great players aren't measured by tries and try assists alone.

It's the work they do off the ball, the metres, the tackle breaks, lack of errors, offloads and their defence.

Gags had no tries or try assists in Game 1 yet he was undoubtedly QLDs best.

There's a bit of talk that Madge is so obsessed with structure, that some of our players have said to those close to them that they are so scared of making a mistake. It's got to the point where some key figures are struggling mentally in fear of making errors and stepping outside the rigid game plan.

That's a sign that we must part with Madge. How is our attack ever going to thrive if we players can't take risks. It's already clear that's the case this season.

Madge turned us around and got us that premiership. I'll always like him for that. However, we've now gone backwards.

Madge is stuck in the past. Game plan was awesome in 2014 but it's now 2017, the game has evolved but Madge has not.

Madge will go elsewhere and have some success I'm sure but his time here is up.
I'm not saying he is a dud or I know better than him but both he and the club need a change.
