As a winger you need to be either big strong and powerful an d safe if lack speed. If you're not big and strong you have to be lightning fast like say Staines or Johnston.
What the hell does Haze offer as a winger? He is weak, kind of small, slow and gets dominated. To give him credit his defense was solid.
His game offers absolutely nothing. Saw nothing of him in the lower grades and even before his injury. No speed, no strength. NOTHHINGGGG. He’s just a body breathing our valuable air at Commbank.

It was a great win and refreshing to see our middles stand up under some adversity. Emu, Maka and even Ogden were great. Hopgood Carty and Paulo fantastic.

in saying that we should have had 12-18 more points at a minimum. 16 errors is horrendous

47 missed tackles against a team throwing nothing at us is also super concerning

47 missed and 16 errors will see you lose by 40 to any team competing for the premiership

great to get a win a start the weekend, but a shit tonne of work still needed to be done.
I’ll take the two. But we still can’t put a full 80 together. Down to the coach.

What did you think of the game?
It was scrappy on both sides I felt. No intensity. Grieg impressed me as did Makatoa. Peninsi is sensational.
Bryce went well bar defense. Haze and Rusell worry me.
I thought Carty was ok in defence. Checked the stats and couldn’t believe he missed 7 tackles. I only recall 2

Russell needs to go back to the wing where he belongs (or at fullback if Gutho ever goes down), put Simonson back into centre when fit.

Blake should never be an option in our 17 again - I’d rather the shoehorning approach of Russell Centre/Dunster on the Wing than Waqa anywhere near the starting side.

Yeah he's a safe winger. Suitable for a backup, but if he's playing you better hope you're getting output from elsewhere.

We got Knights at perfect time.

They through everything into the last 2 weeks and came up duck egg

Mental letdown and we took advantage

We could have put 70 on them though left 5 tries out there.
