I’d still be signing Nofoaluma. He’d walk into our side.

As much as you are right about him walking into our current side(barely), he is a player on the decline and I don't want to clutter and fill up our salary cap space for the next 2 years or so with these types of players. We need to get players either at their peak or young and on their way up.

Like I said before a flyer like Alofiana Khan-Pereira(who is off contract for next year) or a bulldozer like his wing partner Phillip Sami. We need high end staters not midrange backups at this point. Every dollar saved is a dollar we can put towards quality first then we can work out the riffraff to compliment them. We shouldn't be doing it the other way around like we just did by signing Davey then whinge we don't have the salary space to buy quality. But what do I know Pou thinks I'm delusional and live in fantasy land.

I'm happy we won, but I'm concerned that we don't seem to be improving.

BA talks about discipline, and controlling the ball - 60% completion is abysmal, and goes against what he preaches.

It's disappointing to think that after making a Grand Final last year, we may limp into the Finals this year, and barely make any noise.

Don't worry mate you won't be disappointed. We won't be making the finals. So happy days.

What about that Bulldogs winger. The one with the Lebanese background? His name escapes me.

I would've given doorey a run even in the middle just to see if he could punch some holes

Dyl again was too flat. When the outside defense rushed out, the only thing he could do was step in side

But with Russell try he wasnt flat and that's how he should play
The Russell try was a set play, so Drown didn’t need to think.

And seriously, why are our juniors so bad??

We were once a powerhouse in the juniors dept.

I had high hopes for Russell and dunster, but wow......they are bad.....very bad

And why has bushy given hodgo the keys to do what he wants?? He never let's a hooker stray away from the game plan, yet he wants the team to revolve around hodgo...and he is bad.....very very bad...

Welcome to 2 weeks ago...

Penisini played great not sure why you would say out Juniors are bad..

Our Juniors play today in the SG ball GF at 2:30 you can catch them on the NSWRL Facebook page.

If we are looking our completion rate where were the mistakes? Were they in the opposition red zone after making a break?

On another note our backup forwards made alot of Meters Ogden performed well for his first game.

It wasn't only in attack our defence was pretty solid in the middle. Next week will be the real test to see if they can back it up they all get a good rest.

You’re probably right. He’d also be a lifelong Dogs supporter. I respect that.

Yeah like I said before we need quality but generally the good clubs don't let quality go unless they have too much excess to be able to hold onto it like the Panthers have been experiencing of late.

So our best bet and it isn't to hard to do if we didn't have Potato Head and Glacier running the show is to raid and offer the lower level clubs who's current best players know deep down that they are playing for a club that will not really offer much of a highlights reel at least for the short to medium term or semi final opportunities, an opportunity to be rewarded money wise AND play for a contender.

The other option is to raid the lower grades for the best possible juniors coming through and there is always quality juniors available that want a shot at the NRL but aren't getting a start at their current club for differing reasons.

But you need a great recruitment officer and or coach that knows how to spot them and then know how to persuade them to either cut short their current contract and angle for a release or get them to want to ditch their beloved junior club and convince them that we are a better fit and organisation that can offer them so much more than just money.

I know that these things are all obvious, but we never seem to get them consistently right and besides our juniors dropping off a cliff over the last 10 years or so, this is why we are in our current predicament with our roster deficiencies.

Ok, so 1 decent junior in the past 10 years....I'm glad you can be happy with that, but not me. We should be pumping out at least 3 quality juniors every 3-4 years like we did in the Brian Smith days.

Like I said SG Ball in the final at 2:30 today maybe watch it instead of whining and let us know who you think to watch in the next few years.

quiet a few of them f**ked up, if Gutho passed the ball instead of going on his own we could have had another 2 easy ones.

too many players holding onto the ball when they should have passed
They've had set completions drummed into them this week, so it's understandable they'll err on the side of caution. Running causes far fewer turnovers than passing.

The difference is that back then very few clubs had a professional junior ‘development’ (scouting/recruitment) system, so there were few fishermen in the waters. Gould brought it in at the Chooks and Smith did it here. Look at all the ‘Eels juniors’ from Smith’s time who were from outside of Sydney.

These days most clubs are doing it.
