' . . . league officials fear one day, with the money local AFL officials could offer for maintenance of the ground,
they may eventually be forced out for good'. This is referring to AFL being played at historic Birchgrove oval.
Can anyone tell me, does League do anything similar in Victoria and if they do does the AFL consider it a threat.

Ben Ikin is pushing Searle's barrow and if indeed the man has resurrected the viability of the joint he deserves
as much recognition as he received demonition but that is unlikely when the best news is bad news. Seems the
bloke is capable of making mistakes as we all are but perseverance is not common amongst most. My advice
would be to now prioritise Prince's future replacement.

Kent doesn't agree with me with Bowen as Origin fullback. Then again, I'm the one who said I wouldn't
mind seeing the Blues win so which one of us has an agenda. Can't help myself really, imo Bowen
would be best because of his combination with Thurston, he can take a high ball, he can run down
Stewart and he can tackle. Dane Nielsen is one of if not the best defensive centre in the game but he
can't break tackles like Inglis. I suppose if I really wanted the Blues to win this series I would
advocate an untried Barba in a decider so I could use him as an excuse for Q losing . . . have my cake
and eat it too.

Hoffman may get a run in Origin with some big names pushing for it. As I said I would like to see more
of a ball player but Stewart is the best in the game in his position and it's easy for me to express a desire
and not a solution. Williams would have to be at 100% to ever make the grade and Hindy is no more a
playmaker than Hoffman. Who else is there

My pick to replace Stewart would be to bring Luke Lewis into the starting side and Williams on the bench if he is even 85-90% fit. Lewis can play the full 80 if need be and Williams can be used in 2 or 3 10 minute bursts to provide impact especially towards the end of each half. If Williams can't play I would pick Woods to go on the bench, NSW have lost impact when the starting props have gone off and Woods might be able to keep their momentum going and would let Creagh play wider which is where he should be playing instead of up the middle.

It's one thing for NSW journos and hangers on to criticise anything about their team to sell advertising
and promote agendas but a different matter when being realistic is asked of them. The game is as simple
as taking a funny shaped ball from one end of the field and placing it at the other.

Simpler still is asking who are the best 17 players to do that with. If every current NSW player was a
Queenslander who would be chosen to replace any of the current Q 17. Even Gallen would have difficulty
being selected over Harrison because he's done nothing wrong. Gallen would be chosen no doubt somewhere
but Ashley would stay.

Glenn Stewart might relegate someone to the bench but I couldn't see Meninga wanting anyone else.
For NSW to win game 3 is going to require a herculean effort that will have to be repeated as long as
Q keep the current side mostly intact. If I was a betting man my money will be on NSW journos still
finding something to whinge about because there are far too many of them scrambling for a dollar.
Let's find another Frilingos and drown the f**king rest

WTF is this shit?! Harrison has only played 11 of the 23 Origins played since his debut, Gallen has played 12 of the 21 since his.

With better stats, more impact and on a losing side to boot! If he was playing with Smith, Civo, Webb etc it would be even more massive.

Sorry, no. Just flat out no. Even the derpiest superderp of a derpcoach master would pick Gallen over Harrison.

Wake up so you can be put to sleep FFS.

You see what you can do when you want to contribute. Not sure why I have to manipulate posts to get a reaction.
Can't be that everyone's scared to disagree or satisfied enough to agree without proviso. Except for the last line
progress has been made.

If I were a betting man

Present subjunctive pops

When I was a linotype operator I had to proofread and correct the shift before me as they had to mine.
None of us would ever mention the number of mistakes found because it wasn't the done thing. Amazing
how many errors even the most accomplished make. If you or anyone else is looking for brownie points in
a forum where many type shorthand and don't give a f**k, go right ahead . . . make a fool of yourself by all means

I sometimes have difficulty processing long-winded posts covering many newspaper articles at a time but you won't
get rid of me that easily. Unfortunately you'll have to put up with more of Jack Gibson's mug than I would like but
shit happens.

Maybe Brett Stewart may have the perfect opportunity to pay back the NRL for being treated shabbily. What better
time than when being an Origin player he accepts a huge amount of money to play Union and at the same time
finishes his career on an all expenses paid overseas holiday. If it's not just the usual journo wank I say go for it.

I was going to ring Steve Price and remind him that he has ageing troops and doesn't have a points
scoring playmaker but Webster beat me to it in his article. Good to know that a meathead like Price
has genius journos to turn to for advice. Saved me from the embarrassment of Steve telling me to
pull my f**king head in.

According to Matty we're living in League's age of excitement. Wouldn't have anything to do with him
being thrown the keys to a Porsche when he struggles driving a Commode. His brother to be the next
immortal it seems, whatever that is. Perhaps we may see him cast in wax where there is an excuse for
the glassy eyes and off with the fairies expression.

The article in the Herald about Maguire is the best of the day. Tells us what level headed people already knew
about him but also between the lines there are indications that this bloke is going to be a long term supercoach.
There was never going to be room for him and Sandow at Souths and whoever manages Chris knew that.
Luke is also intimated as a work in progress by Maguire when many Souths supporters see him as a man who
can do no wrong. Strongest vibes from all the clubs imo

As a postcript the poll asking if Souths will win the premiership says 42% yes . . . wonder if that's something to laugh about?

Seems blatantly OTT & dramatic. Soward has only just started to find some decent form after starting the season well & Hornby works his ar*e off every week in what is likely to be his last season.

Probably the last annoyance from me until tonight. Watched the Ten footy show for the first time. Did it on delay
naturally to bypass the ads on the offchance it might be worth watching and it was. Might even watch it live next
time, just to ease my conscience, it was that good.

Only one line from you as usual but I decipher it as being in agreement with me . . . even a mutual
understanding disagreement would have sufficed. Price is doing as well as can be expected with the
combinations at his disposal and the current mindset of the players.

Only if each word started a new line that wasn't any wider than a page in a novel which has
been the standard way of pleasing the eye and getting the message across for over a hundred
years. If you want to have only one line discussions they will have to stop about here.

That was a good loss for Souths if there's any such thing. The scoreboard meant about as little as a gf win
and the Rabbitohs can look forward to next year rivalling the Broncos in experience. Manly, Brisbane and
Melbourne are a rung above the rest when it comes to fighting tooth and nail but I'm sure it won't take much
to see a few more become as fearsome.

Dragons were a touch lucky but more importantly they had the right mindset and played the best they can.
Adding some brilliance to a team that can defend is all that is necessary. As little as one player could do the
trick, heaven forbid, maybe even poach one.

Beau Scott being touted as what NSW needs. He certainly could put the brakes on Inglis at centre just as
Glen Stewart has done but what has he to offer other than that. This is one time that Q naming their team
after NSW might make a difference.

Thurston backing Bowen is no surprise. Smith has Cronk , Slater and Inglis where he knows them best
so why not. None in the Q team have had much to do with Inglis at fullback and this game is not the
time to experiment with combinations. Imo putting Inglis at fullback could backfire more than Gallen at prop.
