So I was looking at tickets for Aus vs England on friday. Pretty much most of the second tier on one side is still available for the ridiculous price of $140.

Surely we can expect a price drop. Also still 3-4 bays empty behind the goal posts for $80 a pop.

They have totally screwed up the pricing. But I wouldn’t expect anything less from rugby league.
Maybe you better have another look, all areas available on ticketek are either sold out or getting close.

Ok so does anyone have any solid facts on tickets sold at these games so far ? An updates on how things are tracking would be great. I know it's a difficult thing to ask lol.

Can still buy a ticket anywhere on the second tier except the middle bay on one side and some still in the lower tier. Not sure what you are on about. But last night you could buy 7 tickets in a row in the first row of that bay so hopefully it continues selling like that

I hope that was from an RLWC official... 25K+ will look great on TV and will put us around or above what the Socceroos got for their AFC Opener at AAMI Park (25,231).

Really thought this would sell out even in Melbourne but becoming harder to see it from here unless they slash the prices on remaining tickets and do a media blitz

Wonder what will be worth more in the end, easy state government money or crowds.
Brisbane Sydney or Newcastle would have cleared 30 by now.

Blame the ticket prices- you'd have to be drunk to pay $140 a ticket!

Brisbane & Newcastle - yes, I'm not 100% sure about Sydney but you might be right.

Canberra and Townsville would have also sold this game out at around 25K
Perth may have gone close to a sell-out at NIB

I agree with a previous poster that said we should have booked the opener at Suncorp and sold out the stadium, even if we needed to throw in a double header and the opening ceremony to do so. Would have been a great start like Cardiff in 2013.

Semi in Auckland should be Eden Park, they should have gone big knowing that it is likely that two of the big three will be involved.

Also, if Suncorp got the opener, does anyone think we could have given Sydney the final and promoted it enough to sell out Allianz or maybe even be a little bolder and tried for 50 to 60K at ANZ? I know Sydney's track record for internationals but it is a WC final and they would promote the hell out of it which is something that just doesn't happen with one-off international games.

I think ticket prices across the board have been pretty crazy. But I dare say there's more English expats in Sydney than Melbourne?

Are ticket prices for a third world country expensive too? I had the PNG games down as sell outs weeks before a ball had been kicked.

Hope it's not true, but there is a story on the ABC Website suggesting that some people are buying excessive amounts of tickets for PNG matches and reselling/scalping them at a much higher cost..

Now just 1015 for PNG v Wales !!
967 now!

I tried doing a quick count up today for the Samoa vs Kiwis test and its hard to get good idea how many have sold because they keep opening and closing bays. But my best guess is between 10-14,000...leaning to around 12,000. Hope im wrong...
