Hayne's decision to go and chase an NFL deal has zero relevance to what happened at Parra Stadium last night IMO. If you've got a vendetta against Hayne fair enough, go and post all you like about it in a Hayne Haters Homepage thread all you like, but I don't see any point mentioning it this match thread.

The team were good enough to make the comp frontrunners look out of their depth for 50 minutes last night, all without JH who is long gone. They've clearly moved on, everyone else should too.

Agree. Hayne would have diffused most those tries from kicks last night. He certainly would not have been out of position like Robinson anyway.

I know Pou has his haters but he does make a good point, while Hayne has left we still haven't replaced him in squad by spending his salary on new players. We are next year with Scott / Foran - who I believe will make a massive difference.

Sure scoring 30 points against the Cowboys was great but any good that was done was blown away in just 12 mins when they let in 5 tries. I try to point out the same thing. If you took thurston out last night we win by plenty.If you take thurston out and put Hayne in our side we win by 70....

AS far as the SANDOW scape goat goes.It only take one good charge or run to change momentum in a set. Everytime a team runs down his side they get that.And that is what they did yesterday.
There are a few areas we need to fix in our team. Fullback and WING are now our priorities. There does not seem to be much in the under 20's coming thru that will help us next year - Maybe Twal and ALiaoi will add some depth in the forwards.

We should be extending Normans contract now as well.

I just watched the presser. Basically Arthur went on to say that we are a mentally weak team who can only play for 70mins. We cant handle losing momentum, No leadership was shown out on field. Same problem all season we have to fix this.
My thoughts are we are lucky to play 55 mins not 70mins. Arthur didn't seem to take any responsibility for the loss and kept repeating we are a 70minute side after every question.
I also think B.A. could as they say these days lose the players if this keeps up.

We actually worked hard to be in that position. We deserved to be leading by that score. We were good.

Morgs was saving himself for the defensive effort needed towards the end. That's why he didn't get involved much. Smart white man play right there.

Not his fault he got stuck next a polynesian in the defensive line (Hoppa) - and Sandow was stuck next to a Polynesian (Moeroa). Now poor ol' Morgs - how is he supposed to use all that energy he saved for defence effectively? There were some dudes around him asking if he wanted a canoe race after the game.

Last night is the worst I've felt as an Eels fan but some of the shit I've seen around the place from fellow "fans" makes me feel sick. People stay strong and try to stay positive and support their side and get abused and ridiculed for it. It's pathetic IMO and just personally I've had enough. The NRL has around 38% mixed Islanders. Out of that I would say around 10-12% are top notch and have the right mental toughness that can equal anyone else that the success of the Kiwis.

We seem to have mostly of the other 25-27% that aren't worth squat when in the trenches.
