The one stat refs influence the Roosters arent in the top 5 sides. All the others they're first. Or rather last since it's negative plays.

Boyd Cordner is responsible for 10% of your ineffective tackles aswell.

I'm not actually blaming the refs for anything.

I would be interested to see the penalties received though which is more what I am talking about with the last 10 years stats. Our penalties conceded this year has been helped by the bizarre situation where none of our games have been subject to the infamous crackdown this year.

Our handling has been atrocious for near on a decade, not sure what it is. Over 100 non handling errors is interesting though. What do they even include in that? kicks out on full and the like I suppose but it seems a huge number.

If we play to our best we will win tomorrow. We have the better pack and the better halves combo. I don't really care about stats or hoodoo's when we are playing well.

I can't find up to date info but as of april 26 2016 we had won 2 of 15 penalty counts under cummins in robbo's tenure but won 7 of the 15 games.

Penalty counts dont tell the full story either. Give me 3 soft penalties coming out of trouble on the last instead of 10 1st or 2nd tackle penalties in the attacking 20 any day.
The other factors refs play a huge part in is forward pass & knock on calls. These sometimes have more of a bearing on results than penalties.

Getting a worse punishment than someone else does not constitute being dudded more than someone else. In fact there's still a possibility that you should have been punished more and the other person should have been punished less.

A team could tie the penalty count with another 9-9. That doesn't mean the match was equally fair for both teams. One of them easily could have been dudded, which is exactly what happened for us against you last year and subsequently almost every game against you since at least 2013.

Whether by accident or design, you guys get a tremendous amount of great treatment from referees as evident from games against us as I mentioned and also other teams.

Those statistics are crazy, particularly given that they would have referred us during a period when we were otherwise winning close to 50% of our games.

We are going to have to lift even more tonight to overcome that obstacle.

Ref stats don't take into account who you were playing. Say a ref has been appointed to us 10 times and 8 of them were against Storm and top 2 or 3 teams. That average will look shit because we played higher quality teams.


Refs aren't supposed to keep penalties even and make sure teams win half their games. They're mostly incompetent. But that's not exclusive to any team.

Every teams fans do it. In the heat of the moment especially its easy to blame them for dud calls. I love directing anger at them too.

But when you rewatch games many calls arent as bad as you think or are evened out by calls in your favour. If the officials only make a combined 3 or 4 errors. That's better than any team does in a match.

Ive watched plenty of games where I missed things live before replay shows a little touch thats a knock on or a strip etc.

Forward passes though are the one I have trouble with. Touchies are nearly always in a prime position to spot them. Yet rarely do.

This is a big game for hethrington tonight, he should get a decent chunk of minutes, it will be interesting to see if he can maintain the rage without the penalties.

Yeah fans always complain about the refs but guys like Tommy and Kungl were trying to push some kind of NRL conspiracy against the roosters a couple years ago because they kept losing penalty counts lol.
