We are certainly due for even one decent half of footy, God forbid we string together two. The way Parra are playing though they will eat us up if there isn't quite a big improvement of what we have been serving up.

I agree. What we dished up against the Sharks was unacceptable.

They were severely undermanned and yet we never looked like winning and did not play well at all.

Call me silly, I just think we are one win away from turning things around.

Well things will be little easier with Norman out........but that doesn't mean much with the form we're in.

If we can't beat Parra at home with them missing Norman, Peats, Radradra, Paulo and Foran from their team we are done for 2016. Those 5 players were arguably their best 5 prior to the salary cap dramas being discovered.

I'm confident we will make it into the finals with a wet sail. There is no reason why we can't regain our form back. Now that the S.O.O. is done & dusted,Mansour and Moyza can help us fight our way back into contention.

To give up with only be conceding defeat.

What does it matter if Parra are missing players? Sharks were missing plenty and still had us covered...

I get that some people get a little miffed when others arent as optimistic about the team this season, but do you really blame us? It's been shit, nothing has changed in regards to attack and defensive plans (or lack of), and we have a coach who seemingly couldn't give a rats arse about winning games of footy.

I can't tip Parra, well, because it's Parra, but I think we'll lose this one.

Gee i wish I had the same blind faith in our team.

Things haven't changed on the field in the past decade. Lang. Elliott. Cleary. Griffin. Doesn't matter who has coached us. We lose far more often then not and theres literally no reason at all to expect any different for the rest of the year.

I'll hope for it like everyone else. But I think the odds are against us.

Parra are a good defensive side, like the Sharks, and missing players didn't hurt their very good defence. But our attack will be much better for Moylan being back. We have to be better all around the park, any side can run through the holes we've been allowing.

I thought the Sharks performance was our worst this year. However, the idea that the Sharks had five missing and we couldn't beat them is misleading. We also had five first graders missing. Whare, Hiku, McKendry, Mansour and Moylan. Yes the performance was bad, but it certainly wasn't the Sharks defying the odds and battling in the face of adversity. Five players were missing from each team. They coped better. They also showed up the fact we are one of the slowest teams in the competition, if not slower. Any team with pace causes us no end of trouble.

I am still trying to work out if we are just in a form slump or if we have been getting progressively worse all year. I can handle the loosing to better sides, I would just like to see them play with some purpose and some sought of structure rather than just running across the field looking for off-loads.

Last throw of the dice for us this week. I know we are still a chance to make the final if we lose. But if we can't put the eels away with all their problems we're toast.

I don't know why people are surprised about the loss to the Sharks. It was always likely once Moylan wasn't able to play due to origin. We had a lot of ball and couldn't break through a resilient defensive line and then we capitulated due to having derps like Will Smith literally gifting the Sharks tries. The Sharks team still had Ben Barba for strike power and we had flippin' Will Smith. Give us more of a chance this week because we have something a little more like resembling a football team rather than just a bunch of kids led by Wallace.

That sort of echoes my own thoughts. With Hiku and Whare out (TMM looks promising in this regard too), we have no strike players. We don't have a single player in our team right now (unless Hardaker is that man once he finds his feet) who can run the length of the field and score, or a player that teams go " don't give him space, he'll burn us". We somehow have ended up with a team of players with average pace and it really hurts us at times. DZW, Mansour and Moylan would be three of the slowest backs in the competition. Our sprint coach could be at fault (our training history isn't good, lets face it) or they could all just be carthorses and they have nothing to work with. Either way, we are sloooooooow.

DWZ scored length of the field against the Cowboys... although he did have to bump Thurston off twice to do so. Bryce Cartwright has gone close to length of the field also with no one making up ground on him.

Not sure how Hardaker ranks for pace, but we are definitely missing a genuine speedster. Hiku isn't any faster then the blokes currently playing... Whare isn't a known speedster but I would back him as our quickest.

I think it would probably go:
Whare
Blake
Hiku / DWZ / Moylan (I think all would be behind Blake, but definitely ahead of Mansour. Compared to each other who knows)
Mansour

We probably have a quicker forward pack then most teams. But I think nearly every side would have atleast one genuine speedster in their side that we couldn't go close to matching.

Soward used to be quick off the mark and over a short distance, but I think that his back problems curtailed him.

Will probably be Peach in for Hardaker, Akauola onto the bench. Hopefully Akauola gets more than his average 10 minutes of game time he is getting at the moment. Would like to give Kikau a chance soon.

Does Sitaleki Akauola have a fitness problem? Is this guy like Fui Fui Moi Moi was when he started his career? Comes on for impact then he's pooped after a short burst.
Or is it that Hook can't manage his bench properly or doesn't trust Akauola with big minutes?

He has played 4 games this year for very low minutes.
Round 2 started 21 minutes. Not used again for remaining 59 minutes of match.Injury to Whare may have changed things.
But.
Round 14 15 minutes
Round 16 10 minutes
Round 18 6 minutes

Hardly worth it. An explosive hooker coming on seems a better option when the opposition forwards are tiring.

Just more evidence that Griffin doesn't really know what he is doing.
