They start sets off all the time. In the centres that is one of the main things Hayne did.
All being on the wing is going to do is make him less likely to be involved in backline plays.

It boggles my mind the list of geniuss that get the ball before Hayne does. He is like fourth choice behind Taka, that new edge forward, whoever replaces that new edge forward and pretty much every other player on the team.

It is like having Tom Brady and then deciding to run the ball all game.

If GL is Top 30 I suspect we have more than 30 players in our Top 30

It has 32 players (including Mahoney), add KE who isn’t there makes 33.

It was rumoured we only had 29 players in our squad at the start of the year, so let’s assume DA, Stone, Mahoney, GL and Salmon were all on development contracts, that means we started the year with only 28 players in our squad, so was one of those players top 30.

Additionally who has taken KE spot? Can we replace him?

So we currently have a squad of 28 (assuming KE spot can be replaced) and 5 development players that could potentially fill the last 2 spots.

Also it is possible we have received exemption to play Mahoney as Smith/King are injured (and we did so for his debut a few weeks back)

It's a smokescreen ffs

Wingers don’t need to run in the middle on their hit ups. On exit sets the only requirement is for the last couple of play-the-balls to be near the middle. So early runs can be wherever there’s an opportunity.

Cant put my finger on it but am channelling two wins on the trot for us, 2 losses for Souths

yes. There hasn't been a game all year where I haven't been quietly confident of a sneaky win.

Then the game starts and within 10 minutes I know we are completely out of our depth and the f**k knuckle mistakes begin and the controller gets thrown and the swearing starts and the dog gets kicked and I wonder how in the f**k I ever in my right mind thought we could possibly win.

And then the same thing happens a week later.

We will prolly have to wait to see how the refs decide to ref the game. Such a lottery of late.

I heard SK say that he got an email from the NRL early last week saying that the refs were going to focus on laying all over the tackled player. He prepped his team for this and then watches Storm have 30 second flop naps on his players. SMFH.

I tend to disagree, yeah we have been poor but it’s only really been the first games against Tigers / manly / knights we were gone by half time and only those games plus the Souths game that we had no chance with 15 to go.

All the other games we have been a chance but just lack the control/attack to get the win.

There’s no space at first receiver. Running at first receiver only works when defenders all buy the support runners. Because it’s Hayne they’ll know he’s in the team to run so they’ll always cover him. He’d just get worn out, like he did when he was a playmaker for us.
