Not only that but the 2nd rower kicking for himself, otherwise known as doing a 'Ciraldo' has crept into our game.

I'd absolutely hate to say this....but at times I think Matt Elliot would do better with our attack, and I was his biggest detractor.

Also and this is a BIG issue....we need some good proven assistant coaches next year in particular a defensive coach. Our defensive positioning and structure is a rabble at the moment. When we beat the Dragons we had 1 of the best defences in the league. Now it has become the worst. I don't think we have had a good quality defensive coach in ages.

I am willing to bet that most of the defensive work/structure was Griffins work and once we had the 'mid season review' and it had become apparent that hook was on the outer, the boys threw it out the window and we became a disaster (having a Left edge with Maloney, Kikau, Mansour hasn't helped though)

Saying it like it is.

we ran out of puff about 4 months too early.

I think this was a consequence of us coming into the season 'super fit'. We were by far the fittest team for the 1st half of the season, but we have blown our load too early, and run out of puff because we didn't pace ourselves correctly. I remember Elliot bringing through young gun players and reminding us to be cautious in our enthusiasm for playing our youngsters (in particular Grant and McKendry). He said the season is a marathon and not a sprint.

This season we sprinted off the mark too quickly and now this young, unhardened team is spent. Great teams with sustained success like the Storm, or Des coached Manly know how to pace a season and start peaking toward the end of it like all the form sides (Storm, Roosters, Bunnies, Sharks) are.

I’d like us to target Maguire. I think he could do wonders for our discipline, conditioning and season management.

I like this though I think his bash and barge style will be brutal for our young squad. We don't have many of those type of hard nosed forwards in our pack, which would mean....more rebuilding.

I disagree. There are shit calls in literally every single game against every single team. Funnily enough, fans only remember the shit calls that go against them. It's a pretty simple situation.
I don't see a single Warriors fan complaining about the refereeing tonight. That's the giveaway.

Nah Tamou owes us nothing.

We paid overs to sign a grand final winning rep player and he plays like shit for 2 years so we consider offloading him. Why should he do his f**king job? He hasnt for 2 years.why start now.

Oh but when Carty does it every merkin has daggers out for him.
Tamou made 24 tackles in 39 minutes with 1 miss. Not at all special, and not his best game but when was the last time Bryce did the same?

I am sure that defence was one of Griffin’s focuses and probably what he spent most of his time handling.

I recall an interview with Griffin shortly after he was signed. He said something like “Penrith has a lot of talented juniors but when they come into first grade they need to learn how to defend”. In the post match press conferences when asked if he was pleased with anything in our good performances he usually talked about our defence.
Yes that's correct and as everyone always says defence wins you games. Every time i've heard Gus talk about the Panthers it has always been about the attack needs to be better, wrong Gus look at the Raiders for example best attack in the comp but can't defend for shit, then you have the sharks that have great defense but shit attack but are the only team that can beat the storm consistently. We will never be able to win a comp until we can compete in defense with the sharks and Melbourne.

He's a halfback and the label "MILLION DOLLAR halfback" is silly. Thats what a decent young half costs in the player market going forward
Just my opinion but i don't think Cleary should be in the 7 he can't control a game but can defend and has a good running game should be a 6.

Let's just ignore the non attempts that dont go on the stats sheet.

In atleast 2 tries he was in a position to mske a tackle attempt and instead opted to watch the player run through.

Exactly as Cartwright did and got slammed for. Missing tackles is bad. But not attempting them is far worse.

I guess you're talking about the Lino and Johnson tries. Lino was held by RCG and got away, not much Tamou could do, he was gone. It was RCG's miss clear as day. The miss on Johnson wasn't good but he's not the first or last bloke Johnson will have beaten with a step like that. It was out wide, not where Tamou usually defends.

At the moment fullback and hooker are our biggest problems also mansour and campbell gillard look a shadow of themselves.Kikau is either injured or cant go 80 mins id put him back to the bench and bring him on after 20 mins when the opposition forwards are tired and he can do his damaging runs .Peachey will remain at centre now for the rest of the yr we miss maloneys attack and i dont know why we keep playing chrichton over phillips

Not much he could do? How about try to make the f**king tackle. You never know if that effort is wasted or not. A missed tackle sucks. But its better thsn not even attempting

RCG missed. But Tamou was right there and didnt try at all. RCG atleast tries every single time no matter how pointless it may seem

Tamou literally pulled out of a tackle attempt just as Carty did and was bagged for.
