The closest league came to a video game was a rugby union game called Jonah Lomu Rugby! How embarising is that..

When TruBlu use backyard developers than you get backyard quality!

I didnt like this game at first but after 10 or so games I really started to get into it. It isnt as easy to score which is a good thing, it was way too easy before because the defence was woeful. Now it is more like the real game, best rugby league game I've ever played!

One thing that is really annoying me is the way the online ranked system is set up. My opponents have quit on me 12 times because they were losing, which then goes down as No Result instead of a Win.
It honestly takes you about 3 wins before you actually record one, and in that time you probably have had a loss(and it gets recorded because Im not a cheat) so it gets really frustrating. I am about to stop playing the game altogether because I got it mainly for the online play.
THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THEY NEED TO FIX ASAP OR THERE WILL BE NO LONGETIVITY

Maybe have a points system instead of a win/loss ratio. Even something as basic as 1 point for a win and losing a point for a loss is better then the current setup. Either way the most important thing that needs to be changed is if a player quits the game it gets recorded as a LOSS for him and a WIN for the opposing player

people tend to quit less on player matches, also play with friends they wont quit.

What's the go with playing a game and getting your money back ASAP ??..I did not think that most shops would do a refund if you have already played a game ??.

Have a look at some of the guys on the leaderboard, like 19 wins 3 losses and 20 no result. Its stupid how they set it up but what can you do?

Should have listened to you guys. What a waste of money lol

Wish we could find a way to convince EA to make a league game, surely it would sell at least as well as their old Union games?

I can't stay connected to single game as it disconnects after about 2min - winning or losing. Couple mates have the same issue we and cant get a game going between any of us.
I was hoping the online would have been the saving grace for this game but......
At least next time I'll know to stay clear of any sh*t that TruBlu and BigAnt produce.

I've played about 15 games on Xbox Live without a single disconnection. I don't think you can blame the game for that one mate.

The review in the Courier Mail says "for the diehard fan only".

That is generally what they say about the 'Scary Movie' franchise.

And for $110!

Yeah they gave it a 3...I assume out of 5 going by other games getting 4's.

Basically told it how it is in about 3 paragraphs.

Got the game a few days ago and i love it and all my mates love it. Everyone having a whinge about the game are the type of people who just go looking for the worst in everything.

One time when i was playing it there was a glitch that after every tackle it kept showing the same player being injured over and over again, we all had a great laugh at that and the game was fine after the set of 6 was over, but if that happened to any of you there would be a 4 page article on it crying and whinging blah blah.

Some people are just different i guess. I play for fun value, most of you think your developers and can do better but know f**k all about the mechanics of making a game. Its just a game ffs have fun with it instead of getting your negative pants on even before you unwrap the damn thing.

You only have to play this game a few times and then go and play something like Fifa World Cup 2010 and come back to Rugby League Live and you'll see how bad it really is.

It's like amateur hour.

Why don't we pay the same people that makes Fifa to make a rugby league game? Oh wait we can't... lol

Effnic is right about the game.. some things frustrate me and a rugby league game can reach an insane level one day but I'm enjoying it for what it is and it is great fun when things click.

The gameplay is surprisingly deep when you play on medium difficulty. I got my ass kicked for a full season and finished last, but i've stuck with it and am enjoying it now. Once you know what plays to use and spot gaps in the defence it really opens up. The AI punishes you for dumb play which is good. Defence needs improving but you get used to it. Ive scored some memorable tries off grubbers, kick returns, backline moves. I think its way ahead of the previous titles, you just gotta look past the awful presentation and lack of features. Mind you i did go into it with pretty low expectations after seeing some video of the game.

I don't think anyone is expecting them to produce a game like Fifa, but this game really is bad, it's not even close to a genuine x360 or ps3 game.

It would look good on the original xbox or a ps2.

I'd have to agree with this. After a week I'm starting to get the hang of it and really enjoy it. Love hitting players with cut out passes running through gaps (mind you doesn't happen too often yet which makes it all the more sweeter) one thing that does frustrate me alittle in regards to game play and I hope they address in the future is the turning circle of the players gets a little annoying but starting to accomodate now.

At the end of the day its not Madden or FIFA but I don't think any one expected it to be, but it is damn fun and I think I got my $90 worth out of it already.

agreed - i was getting pumped for 16hours before I started getting the edge over the AI on medium - truly is a brilliant game....sure its no fifa or madden, but its up there with JLR, and all over anything Ea Union related
playing against a mate in 20min matches is epic

side-cam also opens up more greatness, its look much better, and is another challenge to get used to in defeding and exploiting the gaps and kicking game
but passing is easier, especially the cut-outs as u can see your support play alot better
