That's six sets of stats, but I agree with the sentiment. Once he settled in and stopped trying to be a ball-player he was good. Just need him to essentially become a third prop on the field and leave the ball playing to the likes of Ken Edwards and David Gower.

It is just he gets bagged-Rightfully so for his first half of the season. But he did start too play well.
Should try and give players credit on each performance. People who think Gower (although he is in my 17) is a better player have rocks in their head.

Anyone see Fui, Willie T and Reni are all playing for the Leigh now?

Watmough's basically a prop now. So long as we use him as one, he'll provide good service this year, and hopefully next - more reason why I'm not too bothered if we lose Junior Paulo (from the front row mix), or Pauli Pauli (from the squad in general, never lived up to potential).

He also said their would be no more clauses in contracts or players being let go early before their contract were up. He is clearly a man of his word.......

I was just looking up Phil Moss (just left the position of General Manager at the Tigers) as I heard he was coming back to Parramatta and I stumble across this linkedin profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/phil-moss-095a0721 that says that Phil Moss is currently employed as the PNRL COO. Not sure if it's the same Phil Moss that was at the Tigers and not sure how credible this would be. But I think it is interesting that something like this would pop up.

Sydney Roosters centre Michael Jennings to join Parramatta Eels

The Sydney Roosters will sign off on Michael Jennings' release in the next 48 hours, freeing up the NSW centre to join Parramatta on a four-year deal later this week.
Fairfax Media understands the Roosters and Eels have agreed to terms over Jennings' transfer and are waiting on the NRL to rubber-stamp the deal.
The Roosters, who have landed Broncos centre Dale Copley as Jennings' replacement, are yet to sign off on the 27-year-old's release as the Eels finalise the remaining details of his contract.
But it is understood the NRL is satisfied with the terms of his deal at Parramatta, which will allow Jennings to put pen to paper potentially as early as Monday.
Given Jennings still has a year to run on his deal with the tri-colours, the Roosters will fork out some of Jennings' contract in 2016, allowing the Eels to fit him in the salary cap for this season.
However with his contract to increase in the final three years, the Eels may need to offload some players at the end of this season to ensure they don't breach the salary cap.
The Eels are also likely to part ways with prop Pauli Pauli - linked with the Knights - to squeeze Jennings into the roster for this year.
The Sydney Roosters are also clearing space in their salary cap, identifying half Jackson Hastings and backrower Boyd Cordner - both of whom are off contract at the end of 2016 - as priority signings.
The pick-up of Jennings is a major boost for the Eels, who lost centre Will Hopoate to arch-rivals Canterbury in the offseason.
Jennings, who spent three years at the Roosters after he was released from his junior club Penrith, got married in the off-season and is living in Sydney's western suburbs.
The 27-year-old joins fellow representative stars Kieran Foran, Beau Scott and Michael Gordon in blue and gold this year as the Eels search to reach the top eight for the first time since 2009.
The signing of Jennings, who scored 44 tries in 71 matches for the Roosters, comes at a significant time for the club, having just appointed interim boss John Boulous as the full-time chief executive.
Boulous, who was Parramatta's chief operating officer during Scott Seward's 22-month tenure as chief executive, is part of the club's newly formed recruitment and retention committee, playing a significant part in luring the Origin and Test centre to the club.
Outside of barnstorming winger Semi Radradra, the Eels struggled for attacking flair in their backline last season.
But with Jennings, Gordon and Manly junior Clint Gutherson at their disposal, the Eels now possess one of the most exciting backlines in the competition.
It was James Roberts' departure from the Gold Coast that started this player merry-go-round.
The 24-year-old Copley was squeezed out of Red Hill after Wayne Bennett snapped up the former Titans speedster as the replacement to the now retired Justin Hodges.
Copley joined the Broncos in 2009 and proved himself as a noted try scorer, crossing for 31 tries in his 72 appearances for the Broncos.

Well.....I think you are referring to clauses in contracts that allow the player to leave if particular circumstances occur (otherwise all contracts are comprised of 'clauses' or terms). What evidence have you got that that is not true? It might be, but can't see how we'd know yet. I don't recall him saying that no players would be let go early?

At 21 and 33 games(most off the bench) your putting a line thru him? I would give him atleast 1-2 more full seasons. Not many players hit the NRL running at 19/20

Well he said the no more clauses after the Ricky Stuart debacle, then we had the Foran mess. Pretty sure he also said we won't be paying anyone to play anywhere else. Nek Minnitt we let go Paulo,Matterson and now Pauli Pauli. I seriously doubt all of them were taken at full freight.

There's a difference between generic 'non players' and 'non players who were under an NRL contract and just became non players'. As the NRL are parties to the terminated NRL contract, I would think (but do not know for a fact) that they'd have a right to investigate all benefits paid to a player (by the club) in the circumstances we are talking about. Again, as long as the amount paid is not ridiculous, I don't there'd be a problem, but if it is an obvious sham, then you might have a problem.

I am pretty sure they have the right to audit the books of the footy club, but have no authority over the leagues club. It wouldn't be hard to do.
Player has to be a party to it though, because if they ever blab about it, trouble brewing. You also give their agent leverage (remember how I helped you with Joe Bloggs? Now pay James Bloggs 5% more or you're going down).

But it is probably theoretical until the richer clubs become much richer!

Good point. We should have kept a lazy reserve grader instead of acquiring an origin center.

I take it you want to keep Pauli over Jennings?

Yeah thats exactly what i meant

Just because Sharp said they looked externally doesn't mean they seriously were looking at anyone else besides the best mate of a board member. His word doesn't mean a hell of a lot is my point.
