The article by Hooper states 'common assault' and that he grabbed the man by the collar and punched him in the face.

There are different levels of assault, common assault, actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm.
Common assault is at the lower end of these but still an indictable offence and still serious.

You'd think a punch in the face by a man as big as Junior would constitute assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Seems inappropriate just to charge with common assault. If there was no injury common assault would be appropriate but if he broke his nose etc the more appropriate offence would be AOABH.

Most successful clubs have an organising play maker at halfback, (does not mean he can't run the ball as well), and a good running player at 6, (does not mean he can't be involved in organising plays).

Brisbane - Hunt = organiser, Milford = running player
Canterbury - Hodkinson = organiser, Reynolds = running player
Cronulla - Robson = organiser, Bird = running player
Canberra - Williams = organiser, Austin = running player
Nth Qld - Thurston = organiser but just as good at playing the running roll in the halves as shown by his years playing at 6, Morgan = running player, hence played a lot of fullback
Roosters - Pearce = organiser, Maloney = running player
Melbourne - Cronk = organiser, Green = running player.

Most good halves can play both roles but most good teams have the players roles within the team clearly set out.

What was Manly's set up the last 5 years?

Man charged following road-rage incident on M4 - Granville

Thursday, 01 October 2015 11:11:30 PM

A 21-year-old man has been charged following an alleged road-rage incident on the M4.

Around 9.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 30 September 2015), a 28-year-old man was driving his Toyota 86 Coupe in the westbound lanes of the M4 at Granville.

Shortly before the James Ruse Drive exit, a black Ford Ranger allegedly started to tailgate the Toyota.

The 28-year-old man changed lanes to allow the Ford to pass. A short distance down the road, with both vehicles travelling side-by-side, the 28-year-old heard a loud bang come from the side of his car.

The Ford allegedly pulled in front of the Toyota and its driver applied the brakes, prompting the Toyota driver to do the same.

With both cars stopped on the M4, the driver of the Ford allegedly got out of his vehicle and punched the driver’s side window of the Toyota, as the 28-year-old wound it down. The Ford driver then allegedly grabbed the 28-year-old by the collar and punched him in the face, before getting back into his vehicle and leaving the scene.

The 28-year-old recorded the number plate of the Ford before reporting the matter to police.

Officers from the Rosehill Local Area Command made inquiries into the matter and around 3pm today (Thursday 1 October 2015) they attended a home in Sadleir where they arrested a 21-year-old man.

He was taken to Green Valley Police Station and charged with:

- Common assault;

- Damage property; and,

- Menacing driving.

Granted bail, the 21-year-old man is scheduled to appear before Parramatta Local Court on 11 November 2015.

Can only change with aoabh if there is a physical injury. Report doesn't confirm injuries. You need the physical injury to change with aoabh to present at court. Otherwise common assault is the only charge you can go with.

Was just asking who organised and who ran?

Why so angry??

Angry? No, just wondering why you put a smart arse comment on instead of simply stating your opinion. You have your opinion and thats fine, that's what forums are all about, people voicing their opinion.

What other kinds of 5/8 are there besides a 'running 5/8'? Also with 90% of teams running with split halves these days there is no f**king difference! There is a left half and a right half. In fact coaches use the terms 6 and 7 when describing halves moreso than they use halfback and 5/8. They will sometimes link up when there is a long shift. And the first receiver will be whichever half is on the side of the field where the shift starts. So essentially your 'running 5/8' can change through out the game.

And thats what I basically said. But the best halves combinations do have clearly defined primary play makers. My opinion is Foran is a much better play maker than Norman. Don't think there's anything to hard to understand about that.

Not sure who Stagger was talking about in regards to a possible signing but if it's any of the under 20 Manly centres they are looking average. In fact Demetriou looks a fat merkin.

So i asked about the Sea Eagles halves of the last 5 years. How do you define them?
Why leave them off when talking about best halves combos?? Weren't they the best??

How would you define them?

Cherry Evans is a good organising half who can also run. Foran is the same.
So you ignore all the other team combinations I listed and focus on pretty much. the only exception?
........ Yeah ok.

He's usually a forward. Manly fans pretty much say the same thing about him. Looks good against soft defence due to his size but nothing special out wide.

That's because the best halves combinations have a single dominant half. Therefore he is the primary playmaker. But combinations without a dominant half share the role. An example is Manly since 2011, and probably us next year.

My opinion is Foran is a much better play maker than Norman. Don't think there's anything to hard to understand about that.

If he's the better playmaker (and I agree he is) why should he run less? He's a good playmaker because of his running game.
