So if Coach Ted Lasso can retain the services of the Nigerian Sam Obisanya even after the huge money offer splashed at Sam by his billionaire countryman then why can't we sign anyone or have trouble with a simple thing like a retention.

Just asking.

Hope your in the mend Quigs. My daughter has just got it for the third time. Lucky she is young and it is a blip for her.
I will say Ted Lasso is a rousing achievement. If you haven’t watched it. Do it

Thanks Shadow, Battered (and the others). Three bloody times wow. No way could I handle 3 serves of a bad Covid. I consider myself on the mend, I just feel a bit like shit now. Those first two days were mind blowingly weird as.

The missus has it now but it just looks like she is in 'persistent coughing mild headache' group.

f we have signed puru he'll be moylans replacement 100%
As in no kicking game or defence?
Doesn’t get me excited if this is his highlight package.
Dykes few games at 6 shits all over this.

Pretty underwhelming highlights package to be Frank. However, far too early to judge him.

Therefore, for me, ambivalence once again comes to the fore.

I’m not a fan of Dylan Brown, has far too many anonymous games.

If the cap is going to be 12.5m as rumoured, throw 1.5 at Suallii

Throwing 1.5 million at a kid is recruitment & retention suicide IMO. Why spend it just because you have it? Hopefully you meant 1.5 over 3 years.

I'd prefer we continue to stay away from the players who's contract talks seemingly turn into a drawn out media circus, some of these which occur mid contract with threats of walking out. The hassle just doesn't seem worth it.

Yeah, agree with this to be fair - think Suallii will be worth 1.5m under new cap, he’s going to be very special. But based on the above, throw that same money at Manu.

If your the roosters you can just launch cheques, paper bags and golf games at any player you want - if they only hang around a year or 2 and strop off to rugby or something they can just poach the next player on the list.
We are better off playing the long game and getting the right fit for the squad imo which is what we appear to be doing after the dugan, johnson, woods all show and no go fiasco.

That might be the weirdest era in our clubs strange history. Dugan, Johnson, Woods etc big names on big money who where all signed for no real reason or fit but as a nice to have/"had cap room*". We weren't linked with Dugan but it happened quickly after Bird signed to the Broncos. We weren't linked to SJ but that happened when Val didn't turn up for pre season and Woods we were never linked with and picked up randomly mid season. Value for money the worst deals we have ever done. Plus throw in Moylan in the same period who needed to grow up. Wow

*We didn't have cap room.

And the weirdest part is that all 3 were very clearly not ‘Sharks DNA’ type players. Certainly under Flanno we were a roll your sleeves up, make the game rough, messy and a battle, drag teams into our way of playing, a game of attrition, and then beat them with experience. Fight and scrap for every bit of loose change…..
Woods and Johnson are a million miles away from that type of player. Dugan kind of has it in him, but is far too weak mentally to do it consistently - he’s a ‘throw in the towel’ type.
