2016 is a write off if Roberts is still in the 7.
People better hope these young players that we have invested in start improving because guys like korbin, Clydesdale and sione are looking pretty ordinary or going backwards.
At least gagai looks class at fullback, but with no BJ he's probably back to being a 600k centre next year, with a 450k centre next to him and a 500k winger to boot.
How is Korbin ordinary or going backwards exactly?
The good news is that we have a bit of form for announcing signings out of nowhere.
Crowds need to drop. Sales need to stop. We can't reward the ineptitude.
I say this will happen anyway. We took a massive membership dive this year after how poorly we went last year and I can only see it continuing to fall now.
So it looks like we're going to lose Jez as well. So that's Leilua, Scott, Smith and Gidley on the way out the door next year... and apparently we have no cap space. Of course, it wouldn't matter if we did have cap space, because there's no-one great on the market left. A few astute buys, but no-one to replace what we're losing. Legendary cap management.
Gidley - $400k
Scott - $500k+
Leilua - not sure, but at least $300k
Smith - $300k+
So at a conservative guesstimation, I would say we've freed up $1.5m in the cap. Surely the re-signings and upgrades couldn't have swallowed all of that. That would be some of the grossest club mismanagement ever, in any sport.
Apparently Sandow has bargained himself into a corner with the Eels and won't be there next year (according to the DT anyway). We could do worse, to be honest. Obviously not on $500k+ money... but chuck Jez's money at him maybe?
That's all speculation, slot. How much do you think we're paying Mamo? It's easily to see why we're geting screwed by every other club if we're paying him a cent more than $200-250k. The kid isn't even a first grade player yet, and it's not proven that he ever will be.
