Zeb was on the decline before he left us and to be honest I thought he was slightly overrated by a few Knights fans before he started declining anyway.

I would have boofed Zeb when he was here no question, but it's too much of a step backwards at this point. We need to stop with the bandaids.

Only 31

Way to plan for the future

Planning for the future isn't just about signing young players, you also need experience around them on the field as well as off the field for training etc. Taia is six months younger than Scott who we are losing. We're likely losing Smith as well. That's two pretty big holes we need to fill next season and I'm not sure who has the experience to step up. Bird? Well he is the same age as Taia and will be about 2-3x the price. Taia isn't going to be a star signing, but like Paea he could prove to be a very astute buy.

Its this exact mentality of our organisation that makes us terrible.

The knights and its fans are happy with mid level no frills signings.

What player who has options is going to come here?

What player manager is going to recommend signing here?

We are exactly 16th on in the NRL pecking order when it come to signing desirability. Probably behind half the ESL clubs too.

lol Taia. Another "once upon a time" player. 31 and hasn't been anywhere close to decent for five years. If people are happy to sign these sorts of players then fine, more power to ya but they're very, very short term solutions and money better spent on retention.

What ever happen to buying players with plenty of tomorrows. Have we totally forgotten the founding ideal of the club.

Taia is not the solution to any question.

Manly's interest in Bird is a strategy to keep DCE by weakening The Titans. If you believe the papers.......... Sounds like bullshit.

So smith signed on for another year. The herald reported that he rejected out initial offer of $150k, then we offered him more once Joey decided he was leaving.

What's the bet we panicked and offered smith 400+

There's rumours floating around that Sandow might be coming our way. Not sure if want, but undeniably an upgrade on Roberts. Sandows best is awesome to watch... he could certainly put our backline to good effect. It would finally give us a second kicking game in the team, too.

Can't really defend, although he has a go for a little bloke.

Not every other option is a better one than we have.

Sandow might be great to watch when he's at his best but that's when? Two? Three times per year? The rest of the time he's either doing absolutely nothing or putting his side under more pressure with his "hero plays" that more often than not are embarrassing. Also, he's about 350k overpaid and unless Parra want to pay for 400k of his current contract, then it's a big no from me.

Stack of problems off field and if his comments about Arthur's tactics are anything to go by, he's get a shit attitude like BJ's.

If there's one half in the comp I don't want it's Sandow. He's a move expensive version of Roberts (match winner a couple of times a year) and has an attitude problem to boot.

Sandow is a momentum killer. He tries to win the game on his own without due regard for his team mates and inevitably fails on most occasions. Parra's loss to the Cowboys last Monday was a perfect example of when they were in trouble, he selfishly went on his own and the play broke down.

He is not what we need.
