Vaughan and Douglas would both walk straight into our starting front row and would toughen up our pack immensely. Yes to both if we can get them!
Heighington would be an alright depth signing if we got him in addition to a few others, but if he ends up being our only signing then that's pretty sad.
Sounds like Kostjasyn is pretty close to signing with us, he'll be quite useful in our current squad I reckon.
Also I was against signing Bird when it was being brought up earlier in the year, but as the year has gone on and I've watched him play a fair bit since then I've warmed to the idea. I have to admit that he'd be a decent pick-up for us. I'm still not sold on his attitude because I don't really like the guy but he would definitely add some starch and skill to our pack and would be a walk up replacement for Smith at lock.
I'm also hearing that a deal is being done to get Aku to Manly, apparently they are keen to send Brenton Lawrence over as a player swap but we're apparently unlikely to go with that option. Lawrence is a decent first grader with plenty of experience but I'm not sure he's what we're after at front row. Also it sounds like Brown wants to avoid the player swap because he wants to free up cash so he can target other potential signings. Good way to play it imo, especially if we can get Aku off the books without paying too much of it.
