Ash Taylor has gone right off the boil. But yeah in.a.stronger team he will be a gun.

He has.

He needs to develop a few more strings to his bow in terms of attack. His try assist count from kicks is phenominal and that part of his game is obviously well developed but he needs to work on the other parts of his game as I'm sure his coach would be working on.

If Ponga is worth $600K a year (which I think he is), we shouldn't be missing Watson for $500K a year...
Yeah, get Watson and another hard prop on top of the signings we've already apparently "made" and next year gets pretty exciting.

We simply must up our offer to Watson at the last minute. We desperately need a half and what better options are out there? No excuse if we don't get him

I'd also stump up some extra coin for Watson. We simply can't go in to another season with Feeney at half. Hopefully Cogger will get some time there this year and show his skills.

Pythian maybe starting next year if we can't get Watson, and Cogger doesn't work out.

We are getting Moga and SKD (If they work out) for the price of Gagai. We have plenty of cap space set aside. No point keeping it for a rainy day when it's raining now.

Yeah go for it I reckon. We paid overs for Guerra who's best football is behind him why not do the same for Watson who's best footy is in front of him?

This feels like a time where we simply have to pay overs and get Watson. We're in so much trouble if we don't pick up another half for next season. Lamb I can see developing further, but Watson would be a huge upgrade on Feeney. I'm not sure there is anyone else left who even comes close?

And I don't include Maloney or Cronk in this discussion because they won't come to us for any price.

I'll be pretty disappointed if Tigers get Watson to go with Lolohea and Reynolds, and we get nothing.

Yes pretty hard to say for sure, but I don't think they are even similar players to compare.

Cogger looks like a pure old school halfback. He's small and his strengths are passing and kicking. I don't see much X factor there, but he could be a Jeff Robson type of solid playmaker in a strong team.

Phythian is exciting and the biggest wild card. He seems to have all the skills. But why wasn't he groomed as a young half from way back? If anything, just from what I've seen, perhaps Phythian is a bit of a jack of all trades / master of none type. He can kick, pass, run and tackle - a very good start, but is there much creativity in his game? He could end up being one of those players that technically has all the skills, but isn't really elite enough in his overall talent. Like Will Smith who had floated around for years now without ever threatening to be a real first grader.

And then there's Watson, who has just about been the best player on the field a few times. He's won player of the tournament at the Nines, a tournament even an instinctive ball runner like Feeney was useless at. He's got speed and footwork to burn. He's highly rated by more clubs than just ours. There is an awful lot about Watson to suggest that in two years, $500k a season will look like a bargain.
