Rumoured Targets 3

if my first and second choice hookers were young fellas ( woolford and Levi ) and not 80 min hookers - rather than fill a top 30 roster with 3 hookers my 3rd would be a utility that could fill in. We would have Buhrer and Mann as possibilities.

Yes the utility players will fit that bill at all clubs. Just that most would have a bloke who plays in the forwards and some exposure to the position????

I'm assuming Mann has played dummy half before. Anyone confirm?

Never lived up to it in first grade, I'm not arguing that. He was a big, athletic running half in 20's/reserve grade before debuting, so I don't think it's too much of a stretch for Brown to think he could be turned into a fullback. Obviously didn't work out.

I think Brown gave Levi every chance to make the starting hooker spot his. Every chance. Levi looked the goods two or three games, then went to show why he was dropped in the first place.

You don't change a winning formula but we are far from a winning combination. Give Mann a fair go and we might just end up with the mosr dynamic young spine in the comp. Levi and Woolford are adequate back up at this stage but I don't want to see Levi start the season at run on hooker because he has shown he isn't up to it.

Good points Yosh.

Levi lacks a bit between the ears but his best game is good enough. The brain farts and consistency no doubt are the issues he needs to address.

Fingers crossed Mann proves to be one out of the box.

Someone said, fact or fiction that Mann has been signed with the starting hooker position in mind, I will believe it when or if it happens. Levi and Woolford are still young by first grade standard and still developing so we can expect further improvement from both. I believe Buhrer and Mann were both signed as backup while Griff gets back in the game, if he is ok he will be the one to beat for starting position but that might not be for quite a while. In the mean time I am sure Brown will have his best option, whoever, playing starter hooker.

Oh FFS. I thought I may have forgotten someone but turns out you’re just straw-clutching.

Great reply again JM.

Thanks for nothing.

My point is valid. Brown has yet to settle on a hooker. He definitely seems against an 80 min dummy half. He's had multiple players have-a-go there both in training and in games. Add Clydesdale and Chris Adams to the list as well. Did Tyler Randall get a shot too?

Snap out of it. The smart arse act is over.

If you're not willing to discuss any of my posts then don't bother quoting or replying to them. What's the point?

You just talk absolute garbage and it needs to be pointed out time to time is the point.

Brown has recruited one hooker to the club. Griffin. And he was settled on him until his injury.

A couple of second-graders training as our fifth-string hooker at training once or twice does not equate to a merry-go-round.

Righto mate. I'm f**king flattered by your honesty.

You seem like a bloke who hates being wrong.

Going 4 years into Brown's tenure and we are recruiting a utility back to play dummy half.

There is a long list of players who have had a shot in the position, including a young bloke who played for NZ but Brown has not been sold on any of them.

Griffin was playing hooker but he was far from settled on him playing a full game there.

What other posts have you upset JM - that are absolute gelati in your eyes???

You just talk absolute garbage and it needs be pointed out time to time. The king of condescending.

At the risk of getting caught in the crossfire, who actually said that Mann has been brought in to start at hooker because if not fact then end of discussion, fact would be Brown saying so.

The discussion started as Toohey is pushing that Mann will be starting hooker.

That is what we (some) are discussing.

Surely we can be permitted to do that???

Some just need to ignore it so it seems.

You have replied and given your thoughts on the topic as well OD.

I think- Brownly had a shit storm of a salary cap and had to make do with what he had, hence a few reserve graders and a young boy called Levi who'd just made his debut and has a broken back were give some time there. Levi shows great promise but lacks some maturity and a at this stage lacks the physicality to match it with the big boys for the full 80.

  • Brown recruits a much older storm player Griffin to the squad, most likely with it in mind that he and Levi share the role as Danny develops.
  • Young Danny boy spits the dummy and Griffin performs better than anticipated so gets the start over Danny boy.
  • Danny spits the dummy and wants out.
  • Griffin gets injured
  • Danny gets yet another op on his broken back + has a bad attitude
  • Brown realizes Danny isnt the future and recruits another young fella in Woolford
  • Danny...........

I’m pretty sure Levi spit the dummy when Brock Lamb was given bench spot over him. If I remember correctly, can’t say anyone would disagree.

Open to abuse, shameless Levi supporter. I do realise he needs maturity and a Klemmer.

One of the FB flogs has suggested Klemmer may be off to the Broncos to replace McGuire, anyone know if their is any substance to it?

You must be going to jump on this soon JM. If not, why the hard on for me posting similar and copping your tanty?

I'll apologise for the hyperbole, it's actually at least 11, not 27.

Randall
Bhana
Levi
Pearsal
Adams
Phythian
Feeney
Buhrer
Watson
Griffin
Starling

I also have a feeling Yates might have spent some time there, and maybe someone like Wardle or Mickey Paea?

Mullen was doing a preseason there until he got done for the juice.

Rory Kostjasyn anyone?

Brown has nfi idea who he wants as his number 9.
