Madden is pretty average, not sure why we'd pin any hopes on him when the team is so lacking in effort players

Our only real option is to move KP to 6 and find a fullback with ticker and maybe a leader or 2

Doubt we can though
I think a fullback could be found pretty easily and at a decent price. Someone like Charlie Staines wouldn’t cost the world and would be worth a punt at fullback until we figure out whether Bailey Hodgson is going to cut it in the NRL.

Ponga at 6, Brooks at 7?

If you are going to put that much effort into talking, try coming up with players not on long-term contracts?
What? I said like him champ

Effort players who put in and are behind other guys at good clubs

Maybe learn to read before carrying on like smugzilla

I could name PLENTY of players we need “like” them.

i’ll start. We need a player like Nathan Cleary 🤣

Actual, achievable recruits mate. What’s the point otherwise?

Haha you want to talk about achievability and you throw up "like Nathan Cleary"

It's far more achievable to look for solid effort players stuck in reserves than current rep halfbacks isn't it

Maybe try not being such a muppet

If the answer is to move Ponga to the halves, then how about Garrick to play fullback. Once Turbo is back, Garrick is on the wing again. He's proven really good for Manly, plus he's a goal kicker and a good one at that

I could get on board with that.

Careful mate, dont mention players currently under contract for next year. Not allowed to talk about them

I think we need to let go of the idea of Ponga at 6. This forum isn't going to make it happen, he's proven he can be a great 1 and has said that's where his position is. No amount of wish casting on here is going to change his mind.

I think we all know that a player having a contract means very little if they have a mind to go elsewhere

So what are you suggesting? We break the rules and go hit up a bunch of contracted players telling them to whinge for a release?

Contracts can be broken, but not like that.

No not at all

We do what every good club does and reach out to the managers to see if anyone is keen to leave if they feel they are stuck behind players in first grade. Or we look at the players who are off contract at the end of 2023, because they can be negotiated with after Nov 1st, and see if they can get a release

This is the way of player negotiations these days and its what the good clubs do. We need to be on the same page
