Also on our attack, we should stop using Paulo in our “sweep” plays. We have other players who can do that and it’s wastes Paulo greatest strength size / offload.

we should be getting Paulo to run straight (as 2nd / 3nd hit as it’s generally winger / RCG / someone else doing first ones.), with an offload where possible. And sometimes passing at the line, not getting involved in sweep plays.

It will also straighten our attack up.

No we should definitely be using Junior in the sweep plays. Just not making it so glaringly obvious it’s a sweep player. Whenever Junior runs the ball, it’s 3-4 defenders coming in to tackle. When it’s telegraphed he’ll be passing it, he barely engages one defender. Mind you past couple of weeks, you could interchange any of our players and say the same thing

problem is Paulo is one of most damaging middle runners, thus it’s better for him to drag in defenders and either aim for a quick play the ball / offload then let the next runner “ball” play.

I had a couple hundred on Souths, as you know, and the reason is that they are that much better than us. I tipped them as premiers in the pre-season (though now I think it'll be Melbourne again) due to their roster. The faster ruck really suits their players and it doesn't suit ours. And our players know it. Under the 2019 rules we might've got them but the game has moved on.

However I agree it could be time for a change of coach. It's time for a roster change and changing the coach at the same time probably wouldn't hurt. We obviously need more speed out wide and I think we need more toilers in the middle. We might need to let some quality players go to bring them in. I'm talking Paulo, Matterson and maybe even Gutherson. All good players, but not really worth the money they are likely to demand. Not to us anyway.

Think the biggest disappointment has been Gutho the last few weeks. He's become a handbrake to our attack. I'd prefer we move him to 5/8th and move Dylan to fb or let him go and bring in another fb, Dufty is available and he'd be cheap.

No I think if we change our roster we won't need to change our coach, but we'll probably get both. Arthur's is off contract next year, like many of our players.
