Just a note to the doomsayers: We win against Warriors and Bunnies with a goal here and there and we'd be on 10 points, coming equal 4th.

but we didn't

They did not win those games hence "stone motherless" dumb analogy.

and some could reasonably contest we lost those games due to poor goal kicking form. One goal in the Warriors game and indeed in the Rabbits game see us win the first and take the other to extra time.

We need a goal kicking full back. We want a noted goal kicking full back from another club. We had the deal across the line with both the NRL and the Sharks coaching staff, but because the Sharks are a recovering basket case as well, it got hit on the head. Now we need to find a way to extract Lyle Gorman's head from his arse, so we can have FLASH.

While we are at it we can pretend that Michael Gordon didn't get ushered out of Penrith about three years ago when they tried to clean up their cap; isn't third choice at best for the Sharks; hasn't had injury and form issues; and is a hot target sought after by all the other nrl clubs.

The really depressing thing is that we probably would have won one or both of those games with him and he is a much better option for this year than what we have.

Gordon is being pushed out as he is the oldest and Barba is on silly money and failed at 5/8. Plus he is off-contract.

Ok then Mr Expert, who should we be targeting?
There isn't much to choose from in the way of fullbacks at the moment. Not mid-year, or off contract at the end of the year.

And we need to be careful if we expect French to make, no use having a gun junior and no spot as we have a fullback on a big dollar contract for 4 years.

Exactly.
It seems they have a plan in place for French to be our future fullback.
No use going out and buying some top fullback for top dollar if it's going to screw up that plan.

A governance review may conclude that the board should have independent directors, that doesn't mean NRL directors. If sharp was genuine in his attempts to get Bill Moss on the board I would have thought the review gives him the perfect opportunity to get it through. Instead of looking at the review as instantly something negative and taking a hostile position to it, Sharp should see it as a way to make real long lasting change that could solidify his board for the long term and bring the club stability. All clubs have had flash points in their history that they can look back on as defining their future, the club needs to be more mature about it IMO.

This is my thinking, too. If handled correctly, this could turn out to be the best thing that has happened to the club for a very long time. Of course, we aren't privy to all the facts. I was puzzled about Sharpe's response. But, then, it appears that Parramatta brought this whole problem to the NRL's attention in the first place - and now the NRL seems to be treating us like naughty schoolboys. So I'm a bit confused.

I'll be interested in your reply because you don't base your opinion about our administration on whether one of the inner staff say hello to you on game day or release third hand information to make you feel superior on the forums.

Bob O'Reilly said hello to me once.

I honestly don't care if we're competitive and lose. It happens to every team. The important thing is we gave ourselves a chance to win, which we haven't always done since about 2007.

I agree.

It sucks to lose, but we were so close to beating the Premiers twice!

Good times ahead.
