He has the makings of a match winner, his hand in those trys on the weekend showed brilliant eye/hand coordination and vision . I have no doubt that given time he will prove to be worth every dollar for the Warriors. Top signing beginning to impact on the club.

In Tomkins, Johnson, Hurrell and Leuluai the Warriors have play making geniune weapons. And Chad Townsend is starting to fuse well taking leadership of team when they need it. Positive signs.

Tomkins is number 8 full back in the world:

1. Inglis
2. Slater
3. Barba
4. Stewart
5. Milford
6. Hayne
7. Tedesco
8. Tomkins
9. Escare
10.Bowen

He is just adjusting to the NRL and will not hit peak form until June. But his try tonight was a glimpse of his great talent.

The fact you have Escare in there shows you are a clueless merkin who spouts endless crap

Have you seen Escare play? I have, and I know that he is now the best full back in Super League.

The only thing possibly wrong with my list is my omission of the part time drunkard Josh Dugan, who is capable of very good performances at times. If one discounts Dugan's inconsistency and includes him, then the revised list would be:

1. Inglis
2. Slater
3. Stewart
4. Barba
5. Hayne
6. Milford
7. Tedesco
8. Tomkins
9. Dugan
10.Escare
11.Bowen
12. Boyd

The point I was making was a placement of Tomkins in the world rankings. The point was bloody obvious but still too complicated to be comprehended by a dim wit such as yourself.

Geez Boyd is criminally under-rated. Dragons fans will know what I'm talking about.

100% class, that man.

Boyd is over rated.

Like Hayne, who is a better centre or winger than full back, Boyd is probably a better winger than full back.

Tomkins may turn out to be a better five eighth than full back. Time will tell.

The NZ Warriors have the luxury of Kevin Locke and Tommy Leuluai on their roster, and can move people around if they are willing to experiment. In fact one could argue that the Warriors have one of the top three spines in the competition:

FB: Tomkins or Locke

FE: Leuluai or Townsend or Tomkins

SH: Johnson or Leuluai

HK: Friend or Leuluai

Inglis got fat and lazy, it's in his genes.

He can't bare the thought of Sam Burgess getting paid more coin than him.

Are you implying that Aboriginal Gentlemen get fat and lazy as they get older ?

As a 1/8 cast aboriginal I find this highly offensive.

Racial implications aside Inglis v Burgess is a no contest. Inglis ran for 233m in a losing side on the weekend. Souths best player by far.

From my observations, I can see why Tomkins carved up in the ESL. Holes to exploit and a competition not about defence. His explosive speed and slight frame took advantage of this.

In the NRL, he's finding out pretty quickly, the holes are few and far between and that build of his isn't going to work in the NRL.

Those creating holes are the playmakers taking on the line and getting physical. Your GI's, Barba, even DCE and Foran. The physicality of these playmakers helps create a hole, either for themselves or those around him.

There are also the playmakers who run sideways looking for a holes, throwing dummies and the ultimately going for a kick or pass rather then taking the line on.... queue in Shuan Johnson and Chad Townsend. Oh, look, same team as Tomkins!

Yes because the Warriors attack is their big problem:roll:

It's those flashy highlight moments that make a great team right, or maybe they're the only moments you understand...when the commentators tell you whats happening.

Talented players like Johnson and Tomkins are at their best when their teammates create pressure on the opposition, which in turn creates time and space, but this dipshit Warriors side is too dumb and lazy and lacking in class to do just that. Yet all the typical merkin understands is whaaaa Tomkins isn't beating 4 players and scoring tries by the dozen...he's crap.

Sam Tomkins is playing OK in an inconsistent team. The team's performance against Cronulla was appalling, despite the fact that a few players, like Nathan Friend, played very well. When you have a centre named Dane Nielsen throwing the ball over the sideline twice in attack, and winger Glen Fishiahi dropping the ball twice, and winger Manu Vatuvei frequently running out of position in defence on his own line, allowing the opposing winger to score, you have little chance of winning.

Let's wait another five rounds, and see how Sam Tomkins plays if the Warriors can start winning again.

Personally, I don't think we will see the best of the NZ Warriors, or Sam Tomkins, until Shaun Wane takes over as coach.

it sure was yesterday.

No it wasn't. They never had the chance to attack because they spent the entire game either defending their line or dropping the ball early in the tackle count.

There was nothing any spine player could have done with that rabble yesterday.

it sure was yesterday.

Giving away penalties late in the count and dropping the ball repeatedly on early tackles in our own quarter was the problem. Followed quickly by poor fringe defence.

Has nothing to do with attack IMO. It is all to do with attitude. I bet you some of those chaps got on the plane to Sydney thinking the Sharks would be a fait-a-compli. Long time fans such as I could almost predict what was about to unfold yesterday. It happens every year. The Warriors are mentally weak.

Tomkins did his job yesterday. When you have what 39% of the ball, and its constantly coming out of your 5 metre zone, what on earth is your fullback going to do? The only thing he could do was defend. I saw him a number of times yesterday cutting down backrowers and front rowers in the line, and then try to scramble back incase a kick was on. Pity the other blokes in the line didn't have the same attitude.

I attribute 0% of the blame on Tomkins.
