Not much on your list Stuart. I bet we end up with a Walker or 2, and Scott Minto..

plus i'm sure Tame Tupou has signed with the Sharks.

I think you're thinking about Leon Bott, who is already playing in the Sharks PL side.

As Kris_man has said 'who needs experience' but that side is way too raw for my liking, and devoid of the big name or star that can win us games off their own bat.

I knew Bott went to the Sharkies but hadn't heard of Tame Tupou's plans.

Fraser Anderson and Darius Boyd would be good buys.

This is just too bloody much for me.

I look at that list of who's left and sigh.

I'm sick of hearing that the Roosters have signed Anasta, the Eagles have signed Kennedy or the Eels have signed Tahu, to turn around and see we've signed John Smith, a 'promising young player'.

I would FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE to see a headline "[insert name], origin star, signs for Raiders".

WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE OUR TURN TO SIGN A SUPERSTAR!!!!!

AAARRRRGGHHH!!!!

I know Fransiscus was tinted but wasn't he a Queenslander. I am talking about the ridgy didge Pacific Islander.

PNG Steve was funnily enough from...... PNG

I know what you mean with the islander players but I think the NRL is now so professional that those days are well past, The Warriors are the proof for mine, no other team has the raw ability they posess but it's too professional nowadays.

It's unlikely to happen and IMO talented young John Smith is a far better way forward for the club than average but experienced Chris Plodder.

Just look at how Tom LL, Tilse and Thurling have performed this year...

I think the talent on the islands is identified far earlier these days than in the early 90s, so it's much harder to raid talent from there (excuse the pun).

ESL is probably our best option for recruitment for several reasons:
- lower demand for players
- they have come from a cooler climate
- generally older players, not after the party lifestyle so much

This will be the trend untill we become a desirable location for players. This requires better managament and performance on the park, which may be a while off :(

what did i say?

The possible 2007 side sans Schif may have plenty of promise but he have no genuine star or gamebreaker in sight.

Remember the old Raiders game plan? Chuck it to Peter, chuck it to Gary or chuck it to Mal.

We are missing that kind of game breaker.

If I was to take the pick of the sh*tty litter, I would go for McIlwain from the Dogs, John Williams from the Eels, Gavin Cooper from the Cowboys, Matt Bickerstaff from the Dragons and Sam Perrett from the Chooks. He is very fast.

Hasn't Cooper signed with the Titans?
