There Will Be Blood anyone?? Great slow build up, but the climax with the tenpin just didn't do it for me. Kinda felt like I'd wasted a couple of hours afterwards.

Come on...

Why did you think it was shit?

Dunno. I saw it over five years ago now and can't really remember why. My flatmate at the time was talking it up to me, saying I must see it, etc.

I'll be honest though, I wasn't really paying attention. I'd actually forgotten about it until I read about it on this thread. Gonna go to JB hi-fi and buy it and sit down again actually, try to appreciate it this time.

so did anyone watch "the hours" with nicole kidman and can we all at least agree this was the worst movie ever nominated for a best film award at the oscars?

My film therapy appears to be working...

That dude has made some really f**kin shit films.

I quite liked the Sixth Sense. I saw that on VCD a few months before it came out at the flicks here. I watched it without knowing what it was about and wasn't aware there was a twist ending, never looked for one and was genuinely surprised by it.

Unbreakable was ok, but it was a big giant turd rollercoaster after that, culminating in The Happening which was the final straw.

Zoolander and the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy are the only two films I've ever walked out of at the cinema. I loved the original HHGTTG radio plays, the first two books and the TV series, but I could not sit through the movie.

Zoolander I could not get into at all. The petrol fight was amusing, but I just don't find Ben Stiller funny and Will Ferrell is hit and miss.

Has Amadeus been mentioned? Terrible movie.

The Seventh Sign/Seal, the swedish black and white one, terrible movie.

Children of Men - awesome, watch a guy drive around in a f**king car for 45 minutes with some whinging girl... real exciting Clive.

There Will Be Blood - boring as f**k, the ending was rubbish

The Godfather pt 1 - Takes 2 hours to even get remotely interesting, pt 2 kicked ass though

Avatar - comfortably could've gone for about 4 and a half hours less. probably still would've been shithouse though.

Fargo - Don't get the hype, used to love it when i was younger though, probably cause of the woodchipper. Coen brothers always

Shakespeare in Love - steaming pile of shit

All kubricks' movie (except maybe 2001) - just don't get him at all.

Donnie darko has a lot of deep themes running through it that most people wouldn't see and/or appreciate unless you open your mind

A true masterpiece of our time

Correct, it touches on a lot of philosophical and metaphysical questions, all while paying backhanded compliments to 80s pop culture in America. Really enjoyed this movie.

I came home last night and walked in on my missus watching the Justin Bieber movie. To be honest,I probably would have preferred walking in and seeing her in a gangbang featuring a geniused goat and Alan Jones.

Still, I watched it.

Melancholia anyone?

I thought it was pretty good - certainly a great visual feast. I found points of it a little too slow - though I would watch it again.

not sure if 'The Grey' won anything but I found it a bit disappointing. not shockingly bad just not up to the hype I heard it was.
